It's not happening at Freeman Park unless something drastic happens with the town which is highly unlikely. Event info will be updated. Save your money.

Alright everybody new news!

I have updated the event description to reflect the new camping area at Masonboro Island directly across from Freeman Park. Also there is news that the town council of Carolina Beach hasn't taken any action on the new camping restrictions at Freeman Park at their latest town council meeting and it may revert back to the way it used to be until they find a better solution to the issues they have at Freeman Park! I have all the old event info if we do revert back to Freeman Park. I will be keeping an eye open for any new developments and keep your fingers crossed for good news! I apologize in advance to anyone that was going to buy a discounted season pass, everything is still up in the air and I will try to keep everyone as updated as possible! I didn't get a pass either I was so frustrated with the town's decisions! Here is the link to the latest news video.

Newb Questions:
Where to Crap? Are crapping accommodations something that must be brought with and taken with?
Thinking of making the trip for this one, along with my wife. These things become more important when the bride's along for the ride.
Water temp? Air temp? Approx for May please!
Friends have told me that this is a great event and I really want to do it. But, it sounds like something that we've really gotta be prepared for.

Generators and compressors O.K?

I'm bringing a portable camping toilet, I can bring several. The old camping area had port a potties that's right across the waterway literally a hundred yards away. Gotta take your ski or a boat to get to it. I'll have my boat there. Water temp upper 60's lower 70's, air temp low 80's upper 70's

Generators and compressors are fine i'll have mine there for everyone to use. Also I suggest camping hangup showers.

Next Question:
Is this event limited to stand-ups and blasters only?
The reason I ask is that a good riding/fishing/camping bud of mine rides an old SP and might want to go. (don't laugh. He carves waves with surfer style on that thing).

Hey everyone short update,

After several emails back and forth between the town and myself I've determined that the only reason they've delayed the camping changes is to possibly increase the number of camping sites from 95 spots to an undetermined number. These are 95+ evenly spaced camping sites lined along the dunes from the entrance of the park to the point along the entire 2 mile stretch of beach... this still does not work for our event for multiple reasons obviously.

I asked again and no they will not let me reserve camping spots in advance, they will not let 50-100+ people camp only at the point, they are spacing everyone out along the entire stretch of the park along the dunes at least 40-50 yards from the water.

We can pray and hope that they delay the inevitable entirely on the February 10th meeting and wait until next year to enact the new policies. Will keep everyone updated as much as possible!

Id say just let everyone make the reservations and make the 50 yard walk to the water instead of carrying everything I bring to a island. imo

Captain you haven't been to this ride before so I'm going to try to explain it a little more clearly not trying to sound like an ass or anything. Instead of everyone (100+) people camping all at the point which is the only place that jet skis are allowed they are forcing individual camping sites that stretch for 2 miles all the way from the inlet to the point. So if they assign you the closest spot to the entrance you gotta drive all the way down to the point everytime you want to ride, grab something from your campsite, take a dump, grab some food, anything... and you gotta either leave your ski up too 2 miles away or haul it back and forth...

That is if everything goes to plan as the town says. I'm keeping an eye out for updates and will let everyone know as soon as I know something.
