Was a little too tight for hose clamps so I used safety wire.

Tnt manifold is on and I'm ready to pressure test as soon as my carb block off plates get here. I want to make sure I don't have a exhaust gasket leak.

Getting closer....

Cut the tray out for my foot strap inserts

Used chopped glass and thickened epoxy to hold them in the tray.

I wanted to reinforce the tray since it flexed a little with my fat ass standing on it. I went ahead and finished up my chinpad while I had everything out this morning. Everything else on this hull is pretty solid but I don't think it was meant for a 285lb rider. It's been in the 30s to 50s here so I turned the heater on in my my garage and put a big shop light on it while it's curing.

Haha sorry for going at a snails pace. For as much as I've spent on this build I don't see any reason to just slap it together and not pay attention to detail. I'm pretty particular with my stuff. I really only work on it one day a week.

Received my carb block off plates from @DAG
Fought a couple air leaks around the block off plates until I sprayed the rubber gaskets with wd-40. Was all good after that. I don't have a air compressor but I have a couple nitrogen bottles left over from when I had my bagged truck

Spray lube helps the rubber seat and not bind. I've been using those block off plates for a couple years now and they work freaking great.

I received my rrp intake grate this week from Taylor.

@ChadGnarly recommended the rrp grate and to just trim it to fit so that's what I did.

I was ready to drill and tap my shoe and got hit with some weird $hit. Anyone ever seen this before? There were no holes in my pump shoe. I started drilling and it felt like my drill hung up on something. I pulled the drill out and it looked like the aluminum broke. I got a closer look and I saw threads. I dug it out with a pick and it looks like there was some kind of aluminum bolt cast inside of the shoe

I'm off today to I figured I would pick up where I left off yesterday on this jacked up hole. I found some m6 helicoils in my stuff but didn't know if they were stainless so I get a magnet out to see if they stick to it or not. They do so I call and drive all over town looking for stainless helicoils. Auto part stores are a joke. I was told by a couple that they can't look it up and they need to know they vehicle make and model. I asked him to walk to the shelf and look and he said it won't say the size so he can't without even look without a part number. People kill me. Found a couple places that were helpful but didn't have stainless. One had stainless but it was a $70+ kit. I ended up with granger. 12 coils for $14. Turns out stainless is magnetic. The cheaper the grade the more magnetic it is. Maybe the ones I originally had in my toolbox were stainless but who knows. I'd just rather be sure.

Got the holes all fixed up. Intake grate took a little bit more grinding but it's all bolted on and siliconed up.

I work in a dealership parts department and while I don't know how an auto parts store works...our 100s of thousands of parts are scattered randomly throught a warehouse with no definition of what thread, size, etc it is. Similar types of parts aren't even categorized together. The only label and defining aspect is the part number that has to be found by looking it up on the computer.

poopty for the counter customer? Yes, but the Toyota cataloging system works well when you work off of VINs.

Strange issues with the holes. Good to see it fits now! That grate looks intense.

I put red locktite on my bed plates bolts since I didn't do it the first time I put them on. Installed my stator, brand new oem bendix and pjs flywheel. I was surprised by what the instructions said to torque it to. 85 ft-lbs... kinda sketchy if their that worried about it coming loose. I put a dab of blue locktite on the flywheel bolt just in case. I totally forgot to order a spring for the flywheel cover. Had to rob it out of my cold fusion cover that was on my dvx

It was o'rilleys. They can go to the shelf and look. It says the size on the package. I'm pretty sure that's where I got the ones I had in my box. It's just hit or miss if you can get anyone that knows what they are talking about when you call.

That grate should provide great hookup. It's primarily going to be ridden flatwater.

Nope. She's getting locked up behind a black dasa cover.
I wish my carbs and adapters were black too...
