he's prpbably just someone else on the boards who made anothe rname just so he could start this thread and mess with people
try posting your ''write up '' in smaller pieces ! if you can build this motor im sure you can post the rest of it !! thats a lot of time spent for an eng thats going to swallow some sand and water ! welcome aboard ! lets hear more !
grab a beer blaster it may be a while:beerchug:
I am in know way shape or form claiming to be the smartest best fastest......There are alot of people on here with vast knowledge......We are all tinkerers
For the Guy that made the comment of muffler bearings...........Guess what there are actual linear bearings that contol the expansion contraction of the stinger and pump nozzle.......Who would have ever thought........Fuel delivery......micro cylinder/ piston/ water= high compression direct fuel injection. Crank Case/Cylinder are made from solid 7075. To much porosity in cast aluminum.....thats what produces cracks under heat/vibration/compression. No to take away from Skat Trak....Ken Stewart has helped me through the years......Skat simply does not have the machine capability to produce a solid titanium pump........they are cast. The entire motor has been keenserted....not helicoiled.....helicoils are unstable under heat. Inconnel was used for its stability under high heat, its super tough and super hard......unlike titanium. tough... not hard.....and not much harder than cold roll steel. The Cylinder head is girdled.......8 point, using hardend hastelloyX studs and nuts.
Keep in mind this ski is completly expiermental. It is 3 months from finish
''Hell'' im still waiting on page 2 of the writeup, and you want pics already ! For all you nay sayers , Jonny Cash built a car ''One piece at a time "" at least thats what the song said ! ,,,,,,, Page 2 please ! if you cant load it just rewrite it , man im achin for a good read ! My meager X-2 awaits new plugs for spring and that will at least give me some inspiration to go look out my window at the snow ! BTW will this craft still use the ancient 12-v system to power everything ? if i remember its kind of slow ! I myself am working on a battery ''PATCH ''system , you know ''peel and stick'' that way the guys with total loss wont have to open their hoods to change batteries ! such a PIA on the beach ya know and it will save a lot of weight! just slap it on the hood with your other stickers and your good to go for a week !now where the f$#@ did i put those bandaids with wings i was using for demos ?? honey .... have you seen your pads??..............................pictures would go a long way towards ANY credibility in this thread. do i really need to say that?
If I had the machinery and finaces, I would make a 1200 cc pure billet engine for my X2.
So instead, I will rape and engine from an 800 SXR or 1100 tripple one day....
Not to bash you but without some proof, I must say this X2 seems like a fairy tale or myth. The cost of manufacturing parts like this makes it unobtainable. Even if you had the machinery, I don't see Lockhead letting you machine a set of case or cylinder.
But i ma still interested. Not saying it isn't possible, just it is not plausible.
BTW, I am an engineer.
As beautiful as the Waterdawg top end is... it still uses a stock cast bottom end.
Don't get me wrong, I think it kicks a$$!
But I want a full billet engine!
BTW those ADA cylinders are sweet too!
DAVE
i thought he had billet cases and cylinders at daytona? :sneaky:
