Freestyle 300 SX build FINISHED!

These are the only ones I have. Depending on how far back you mount your motor, you will have more room.

As for the waterbox, it's tight... I doubt it can be strapped down so i was thinking of using foam as an insert under it to keep it from moving around. It shouldn't move much anyway when the hoses are attached.

My front cover is just about touching the bolt holes up front on the bottom of the hull. Just like the first pic you posted. I'm going to shorten my shaft up about 3 inches. I really wish one of these was done already so we could compare where the motor is located to how it rides.

Hmmm... yours doesnt look that much farther forward than mine. As long as the motor stays behind where the stock 300sx gas tank bolts were, then you should have just enough room for everything. I am running a full SJ setup. What ski is that shaft from? 650? 750? I think someone said the 900 shaft is a bit shorter and works great for that set up.

As far as the hood seal, on my SJ I run a Seadoo seal and its bitchen! Fits better than the stock one. It mounts to the hood side and not the hull. Call Dan at Jet-world Power sports. (Click on the link in my signature) I think it was only $40 or so. Just ask him for the Seadoo hood seal that is used on the SJ hoods. I'm gonna get another one to use on my 300 project.

B pipe showed up today. fits in there just fine. one HUGE issue, I didnt ask what manifold it came with. The manifold I have is wayyyy too small to bolt up to my motor. Can anyone help me out here?

ok, so I took the tape off the engine and lined up the manifold. I was looking at the upper holes on the front cylinder for the mount bracket. I have the right manifold afterall. Pays to look a little closer at things before panic sets in.

So me being a complete Yamaha newb, I just found out the b pipe chamber i paid too much for is a 650 chamber. Anybody looking for one? Its mint, I would gladly trade plus cash for the right one for this motor.

Ummmmm Brian one has been done up for quite a while now, I used the 750SX shaft, it rides nice, if you are going for a backflipper use the 900STX shaft and set the engine farther back in the hull, if you want a good all around ski use the 750SX shaft.

ok here is a sensible post. Im back working on this again, I built a custom stainless pole bracket this morning and Im calling it the B metal bracket. My bond line is all reinforced and smoothed out ready for carbon. I foamed the tray and footholds today, trim and glass tomorrow. All thats left before laying down the carbon inside is to glass up the bulkhead and reinforce the pole area of the nose. After the carbon is in I can bolt in the motor, and think about gas tank and waterbox placement.

I got the motor bolted down and lined up. I have to get the right factory pipe chamber then see if I can heat and squish my 440 tank to work. Also foamed in the footholds and shaped the sides, time for glass work, sanding and primer. Hope to have this up and running in the next month.

Still on my list to buy:

Factory mod chamber
Start stop switch
Exhaust tubing and small waterbox
Cooling hose
Turf
Primer kit
Jetworks flow control valve
Stainless nuts and bolts for stuff.
A good set of tubbies

itching my arms
Cooling hose

do you mean in the tray area or for connecting to the pump and engine/pipe??

If in the tray go for Stainless 3/8" tubing for the cooling lines, while your in the might as well put 2, then a 1/2" for trim some of the aftermarket companies cables will not fit in a 3/8" tube.
