Got the pump aligned and the midshaft on for the final time. Lowered the motor in and @&#*$!... it was sitting an 1/8" too high. I had my heart set on using these couch mounts so I decided to "machine" an 1/8" off the bottom using my fancy tools. I should have more epoxy here sometime today and can continue with inserts and footholds.

A lot of similarities to the Tom 21 I’m building! Foamed my sides but had to do it after bonding, needed to reinforce bond line from inside since Tom 21 bond rails didn’t match.

Slight setback. Had to fix another #_+&#)$! Kawasaki. Stock battery box was a pretty tight fit so I decided to make a smaller stronger one. Used an old battery covered in duck tape to wet lay a mix of carbon and glass over. Then peel ply> absorbent mat. Throw it in a bag and suck the air out.

Made a hook for the tank strap. Using a square nose fire extinguisher strap to secure a WPS lithium battery.

Day 4 of turfing still not done. Probably my least favorite part of a build. I do about 1 ski per year and that's enough. My priorities are function and feel. If I can make it look decent that's great but not something I'll lose sleep over. I went with 1" underpad sloping into front hold and a 2" kick tail. Should help me stay connected with this little beast and absorb some impact so my rebuilt knees don't have do it all.

you know you can just over size the hole on the bottom and slide them further out /?

I do, I just hate hogging the holes out of my parts. Couch mount holes are already bigger. I had them pushed all the way out and it was still an 1/8" high and the threads were already at the edge of the bedplate holes. Would've had to hog those out too. Taking an 1/8" off the bottom worked out perfectly. Minor obstacle. One big obstacle I DID have with this build was having to buy 2 exhaust pipes. The first one I bought didn't show up this summer.

Forgot to get a pic of this new RadDudes FX-1 waterbox installed before putting the tank in but it fits so nice. I used (2) 1" foam blocks underneath and turned it slightly towards the bpipe outlet. Chamber is nicely aligned and has a finger gap over the motor mount. Exit hose also looks like it was meant to be. It's really packed in there with an RN tank and I'm happy with how it all worked out. RadDudes is under new management and killin it. Had this box sitting at my door 1 week after placing the order.
