I got the driveshaft fill roughed in place. Also ground a small V along the rear hull cap lines and filled those in. And I added some foam into the hood.......there is reason behind that. #1....Have you ever lost a hood on the water?......they sink quickly......bye bye custom paint or graphics! #2....I need a more flat surface inside for........you'll see later!

I finished up the foam placement, then used a sanding disc on the die grinder to blend all the edges a bit.

I gotcha , on my Team Butch hood I filled the hood vents with pour foam, my hood is hinged though , it doesn't come off, but since I chose the rear gunwales off I felt it needed the added foam.

Today I mixed up some 'icing' and finished in the driveshaft fill. I also went around both sponsons to blend them in........ready for sanding!

I also got my glass cloth cut and fit and laid into the hood. And since EVERY corner of the hood has tiny cracks, I reinforced them with a little biax.

Today I finally started coloring the bilge. It's getting the same type treatment I did on my wife's Superjet......colored epoxy! Because plain white is BORING! This one is getting a medium grey. I got the first coat on the bilge bottom. It will take 1 or 2 more. This way we get a super tough, easily cleaned bilge! This is NOT for the impatient as you have to roll the hull on each side and wait 'til the epoxy tacks up to move on. Otherwise it will run right down off the vertical surfaces.

I also mixed up some thickened epoxy and smeared it to smooth some of the rough areas under the hood. Then it got it's first coat of grey as well. It looks SO much nicer compared to a stock hood..........and will float now too!

Today, I epoxy coated the inside of the hood for the second time. And I got both sides in the bilge coated as well.

I rough sanded the 'icing' on both sponsons. Then I mixed up some fairing epoxy to a nice spreadable consistency. And now the sponsons are fully blended into the hull for a nice, seamless look. I hit the pump tunnel as well.

I'm still not 100% after the dang flu but I got the grey in the bilge finished. I had to go in and knock down a bunch of 'prickleys' that tend to raise up along the cut edge on that biax. Not a huge deal, just get a coat on it and let it set up. Then go in and knock em off with a 2" sanding disc on a die grinder. Then onto another coat. Pretty grey bilge.

Sponsons?......What sponsons?.......This hull came like this.

First stage of blocking I think went real well.
