Yeah I think it makes a lot of sense to do footholds like that. It will make the tray even wider and then i wouldn't need footstraps taking up space in the tray.

I started cutting out the footholds this afternoon. I went 2" deep and 3" high. I cut it a little high so I can put a nice thick underpad on the top.

I took a break from the hull today and got some other stuff done. I moved the pivot point on the turn nozzle in and trimmed the nozzle edges to get more throw. I now have as much throw as the 550 cable can give. I also tapped the pump for dual cooling and finally identified my impeller. It is a Solas 15/20. I also got a lot of work done on one of my other skis so I can still ride while this build is going on. Back to hull work tomorrow...and a quick ride!

I haven't gotten much work done lately. With the warm weather I've been focused on getting a ski running and riding. I got the second side of the tray carved out this afternoon. I had to go a little higher on the second side because of the fire extinguisher compartment. I still have to shape it up a little more. I'm going to have to raise the other side also now to make them match. The higher side is about a half inch higher. I'm not that concerned with going too high because I can use under padding with the turf to get extra padding and get the size of the foot wells right.

Any one think I should cut the back of the gun whales to make them slanted? I've talked about it with one of my riding buddies and someone on pwctoday suggested it. Here's what I'm talking about...

The ecwi came in today. It came with a brand new factory pipe potted solenoid. I need to get a computer cable for it, but that shouldn't be very difficult.

I got the tray pretty much completely done. The footwells are almost exactly the same size. They are way higher than I want them, but I didn't have much of a choice because of the fire extinguisher compartment. I'll just be using some nice 25mm under padding. I need to get some foam to shape the back where the fire extinguisher compartment was. I don't think I'm going to chop the back of the gunwhales. I'm ready to get done and get it on the water, so I need to stick with what I'm doing and stop getting side tracked because I'll never finish if I keep adding stuff to the build at the rate I am lol.

I just got done sanding the foam on the back of the gunwhale. It's not perfect, but it's close enough for me.

looks like youre ready for glass work

Pretty much. I sanded the engine bay walls down also. I just need to make a mold for the handle pole bracket and mount it to the hull. I went by west marine and got a gallon of resin and more hardener. I'm going to try to do some glass work this weekend.
