Custom/Hybrid A mindless backie chan

Discovered that after all the epoxy, machining, port work sand blasting/painting for this project that the cases had an issue. Dan purchase another set of cases and all the work had to repeated. Yes, he got a break.

What was wrong with the cases? Sweet build btw.

Finally some more progress. Man that first hole you drill into your shiny carbon hull is a bit traumatic. Painters Tape, then measure, measure, measure, re-measure, then close your eyes and just do it!
The rubber backed bow u-bolt from West Marine is mounted and ready to make transport and towing easier.

Watching Phil align a pump shows his attention to detail, no worries from me about a stripped driveshaft.
The midshaft housing is sealed and bolted up. Due to the alignment of the pump, we had to shim the midshaft housing and on my (cheapskate) call we decided to use the Right Stuff to seal the housing to the firewall. On hindsight, maybe I should have bought a cold fusion midshaft housing spacer and had that ground down the .7 degrees it needed for alignment.

Couch mounts are installed and the mounting holes are drilled out a lot, and it's still not level enough for Phil. So we grind the bedplates, on my shiny new TPE 964. He's gonna grind/sand the mounts down 20 thousands to ensure proper alignment.

Slow and steady goes the build. On the upside, the way it's being built, I shouldn't have any issues with the way it runs.

The TPE 964 looks awesome inside the hull and I can't wait until the first time I get to hear it crack to life!

Motor alignment is now perfect.
The Power Factor pipe is now aligned and the smaller support block is glued down.
We started mocking up the location for the OEM e-box, and Phil convinced me to run MSD total loss, instead of my Epic. I was going to use my Epic b/c I've averaged 2 years on the last 2 MSD total loss brains. With Phil wiring it, it will be much cleaner and the brain should hopefully last longer.

So now instead of my backie chan having a b-pipe with Mikuni 46s and an Epic. It'll have a Power Factor Pipe, with Dasa 48s and MSD total loss. We're getting closer and closer. I can almost feel the cold water.

There's a lot of time and custom stuff that goes into my builds. I don't just bolt them together. Every detail affects the rest of the components. It's not a fast process, but the end result speaks for itself.

Hopefully it will be ready soon. It's 22 here now so we need a break in the weather anyway lol.
