it gets a little more "personal" than that when it's in a forum like this, and everyone involved in the discussion actually knows one another. I agree with you based on the part about if it was just "somewhere on the internet", but it in a forum like this, it has quite a different and personal effect.

Oh !...I am so sorry to have bothered the Gods of freestyle in asking for some of their knowledge in hopes it rubs on me and it stays with me.

There seems to be a lot of times when people ask questions that have already been asked and answered a few times already.... its kinda rude not too search around on the forum first trying to find the answer... after belonging for a while I have found that searching usually gets the answer 9 outta 10 times... but I was a newb not too too long ago and prob asked dumb questions, so its prob mostly just learning about how good of a tool the seach can be on the forum....

It is just a challenge to weed through answers and figure out who you can actually believe/trust... that takes a little while for sure...

That's the ever evolving problem of search. If there are fewer threads to begin with, there are fewer search results to weed through.

I am far from a newb and just last weekend spent over an hour looking for subject matter covered in one of 3 threads I know I read in the last month alone. The search function does work for most of the easy stuff but it sure can fall short some times too. I got frustrated and posted it in it's own specific thread and got answers immediately, now it is easy to search and not mixed in with another topic.

Jet Ski freestyle is coming back for sure.. I have events wanting us..

I had to let Beaufort waterfest go this year because I couldn't get one freestyle rider get back with me to attend and the event was giving rooms, food, permitted area, no problems with law, vip treatment, etc.

I did countless interviews this year and we were just got Front page picture and headline in the biggest paper in Memphis..

it pays to spend more time putting together a local ride group that enjoy what your doing.........riding. If everyone put their effort into their local scene and growing it,where would we be?

The is NO denying in the power of the internet nowadays, If you participate in a Forum/Community you want to be taken seriously when posting and your "Virtual persona" becomes and extension of yourself and says a lot about who you are in the "real" world. Some put their hearts into it more than others I guess......but I get what you are saying.....trust me I really do not take life too seriously myself.....not worth it sometimes...





About the "Search" responses......

I agree with you when someone just want stuff handed out and do not put the effort in trying to get things done for themselves.....I know a lot of people like that.....as a matter of fact I know people that don't even bother and paid to get their stuff fixed/repaired.

I guess it depends on the attitude when posting, something like one liner posting like "How do I do this or that"? are usually a clue. A much better posting would be explaining what you are doing with pictures (I do that all the time) and also referring to your own ideas on how to fix it or do it and asking for feed back on it. I want to compare myself with what other riders are doing to see if I am right or perhaps someone has a better idea.

But engaging is the clue here.....I want to engage people in my treads (hopefully) with some constructive comments and ideas....how about some feedback, just a bit, even a one liner. What is the purpose of this site if it's not to engage in conversation and debates about our boats, etc....

Besides it will be one more tread on the same subject covered and that will help with searches......HA HA HA !!!!

Of course we would all rather be riding. And this site provides all kind of info about the sport/hobby.

i think one of the things that separates sports from hobbies is the money to ability ratio...

swimming, underwater basket weaving, etc take very little money, and rely souly on ability

in skis, desert racing in trucks/buggies, most motorsports in general (NOT MX), giant leaps can be made by just throwing your wallet at it.

sheer ability wont get a kid from from florida doin 20ft backflips off a 2 foot wave on a stock, or anywhere near stock sj....

just a thought, but i dont think it matters anyway you look at it
