If you are man enough to be a pro rider....put on freerides...etc...then you have to man up and deal with both the good AND the bad that come along with putting yourself out there. Sh*t happens.....it is how you deal with it that matters.

Yes there are people out there that purposely try to piss you off....IGNORE them...it is quite simple. Should everyone walk on eggshells and not say things that may be deemed "critical" because they are worried about people blowing up at them or being told they are bringing down the sport? Criticism isn't immature....not being able to handle it with respect and grace is immature.

This isn't just Pete.....Pete knows how I feel about things....it is everyone on here that whines when people say things they don't agree with and get their panties in a wad and then delete their account or quit riding...whatever. If you can't handle the pressure of not having people constantly agreeing with you then you don't need to be doing it.

Pete had a few people disagree with him and obviously had several supporting him. No point in focusing on the few that disagreed.

and Chris....I love "ass hattery" .....haha

The X is just a small section of the jetski community. Even with all the jetski sites together it still repersents only a small peice of the overall sport. The interweb will never replace going out to rides, races, events and meeting people face to face & riding together. These sites are good for spreading the word about rides, sharing tech info, and BSing with each other but thats about it.

People always complain about the drama but why is it that the drama threads always have the most views? At one point when Pete was raging out, there were about 23 people viewing that thread at one time. Funny thing is, alot of those people that were viewing it were the people that say they hate the drama.

even better are the ones that contribute to a thread like that - but then say they never add to any drama.

You know what cracks me up....is people that actually get upset about what someone says on the internet. Who cares. Period. That is my take.

Yes it does Sir, yet it is unfortunately current reality, so it's back!!!

This is what I personally think based on my life experiences thus far. I’m highly guilty of stepping into the drama threads. I adore them at times, probably because I’m personally a vocal, confrontational individual whom usually has strong opinions (plus I love the drama until someone crosses someone else’s boundaries with malicious intent to harm for ego’s sake). Not everyone is like that. Being a compassionate person, I recognize that fact and attempt to be fair when I do step into them; likewise, I realize others could care less about being fair to others, and then I recognize we all consider different things to be fair or unfair. It is a matter of personal judgment really which in the end sets social norms in life. This site has a social norm, and it shifts with each new member or old member whom departs. What do you want the social norm to be? Logically, everyone will have answers which vary, yet I think the goal is the same for most: to have fun while positively promoting our shared interests.

Social networks and norms have always been profoundly interesting to me because I am an extremely intense “social jumper”. An example is I can go straight from a “motofilth” ski meet directly to a “foo-foo” art auction without missing a beat. I was conditioned to do such from an early age for a reason. When you grow up like that, you become well adept at switching hats instantly. Most people are not like that I have learned; they stay in the network which is most familiar to them (I get bored doing that due to my upbringing). I learned a long time ago to keep my networks almost exclusively separate for this reason, for most people do not cross-over extremities with ease. The internet does not currently provide that ability...it is both good and bad in that sense.

On the net, you have a wide range of social networks consolidating for homophily (look it up if necessary). You encounter age segregation, class segregation, etc…it is a melting pot, and each person brings different things to the network, both good and bad. The goal is to harmoniously blend while focusing on the same shared interests. If you don’t blend to a certain degree, the network is going to develop a problem. In the end, you have to ask yourself what you want.

I’m not familiar with PWC Today fortunately from what I always hear, but my understanding is that this site was developed because people over there did not have the foresight to handle the problem before it got out of hand. This is not exclusive to jet ski websites, it is an international issue. This site is not going to solve that international issue by debating it in this thread either (even though it is funny that some seem to think it will).

Basically, if you have enough respect for others to not intentionally cross their personal boundaries which flux constantly, you are a decent person imho. If you’re not a decent person, I may still personally like you and find you amusing, but it doesn’t mean I will hang with you when near the water, and I think that is simply how it must work at this point (for me anyhow).

I'm still scratching my head :ugh: on how that whack azz thread went from kissing everyones azzes for chump change, to telling everyone to get fikkd and quitting the sport. Hearing a pro rider bash the sport on a public forum and tell everyone how unaffordable and what a waste of time it is =

Like most forum based sites this one is chalked full of attitude, though have met a few quality folks on here. I think Harrison is doing a great job, thats got to be difficult to manage all the personalities on the X.

RIP Pete.

LMAO, who’s knocking you? From what I have read people are voicing there opinions nothing more. You freaked out Pete and then people reacted to you.

People telling me that I have to use my only 1000 emergency money to compete..

I’m sure they are, that's life. Especially in this economy.

I do not have the money to travel..

Understood, but you asked me twice for money on the X previously prior to any thread appearing, and also for sponsorship, and I have nothing to do with you or your sponsors. You heard I was wealthy and went for it. If I remember correctly you said: ‘sorry but I have to ask’. This was minutes after you made a comment about my $5,000,000.00 home, after seeing pics of it on myspace.

Further, I let you slide in to my spot with Bobby cuz you made all kinds of promises to him, none of which have come to fruition. So he and I both got the shaft on that deal. Bobby has two little kids and a stay at home wife, do you think he can afford to discount his work and not get anything in return?

If they want.. they can :):):):)ing hack up the dollars instead of me begging like a :):):):)..

I don’t think anyone said you had to do that, your money woes are you own doing arn’t they? Didn’t your sponsors already get you the equipment you needed? Didn't people send you what they could? If it was me I would drive my chit down there and run what I had and quit complaining on a public forum about how broke I was and how your sponsors basically suck for not sending you there. Your just making matters even worse for yourself.

I have nothing against you personally, and realize everybody gets there dong stuck in a zipper sometimes. Just chill out, think about it, and move on.
