Its been more than two years. He was talking to me about it close to 4 years ago. Its out standing wha the has done. I have seen what he has done from the bottom. its a good thing
For the record, I told Erik I wanted to start this thread to build up interest in the motors. He really had no interest in advertising until the product was ready to ship, but I talked him out of it. I am a marketing agent for an insurance company, I know how to build interest. When Ford comes out with a new car, they display it for 8 months to a year before it hits the dealerships for purchase. They do this to build interest while they finish testing. This is the same thing Erik is doing. He is finalizing testing and first runs, nikasil, etc. How long did it take Xscream to get their 1200s out? How long did we know it was coming before they started selling to the public? Same thing.
Erik is very close to having the motors and cylinder packages ready to ship. I for one would rather have someone take their time to bring the best product they can bring to the public than rush something out that doesn't work.

Why would you want to do it that way? The hull builders have been using the market as test subjects for years. Just let the customers work out the quirks and make that $$$$!!!!
I believe they still run studs with nuts rather than bolts. Why does one have girdled hardware in it

This thread is only 2 months old and I know Erik has been working on this for at least 2 years... Probably much longer! Not everybody has the money laying around to buy this motor on it's release day without any warning or advertisement of it's development beforehand. not to mention a lot of people that are complaining about pics of the bottom of the cylinder and it's release date/final cost are probably not going to actually buy a cylinder or this engine package. R&D takes a lot of time especially for something like this! Erik has a lot of experience and knowledge and he will not release something that he isn't 100% satisfied with
I would be interested in a cylinder but there is alot of grey area that they aren't telling us. Just wanted a simple picture instead of asking a 1000 questions. But if i cant get a picture then i will ask a 1000 important questions.

Maybe, if you have a specific engineering concern, call Erik and talk to him about it.
I am curious though....I do not know your background and don't want to assume anything about it. What are your qualifications in this field that would allow you to judge whether that cylinder is right or wrong on the bottom?
