I've been in a coma resting from all our riding and boat chasing Saturday. But Paul Lehr came to hang with us on allatoona this weekend. He told me he had been tuning. Water routing, power valve timing, and ignition timing. I think maybe even dug back into the carbs. He twisted my arm (not really) and told me to ride his ski again. Now, a couple weeks ago I guess I stirred the pot and some people weren't too happy with my review. The motor ripped 2 weeks ago when I rode it, it just wasn't 100% for me.
Fast forward to Saturday, after talking with Paul about his tinkering and him being so generous and wrenching on another guys ski before he could even change into riding gear, he got his ski out and ripping around. It even sounded like a new motor. Way more crisp and had some grunt to it. So he stops and tells me to take her for a rip. So, I did. Paul could have told me he put the stroker in and I would have believed him. The power difference from 2 weeks ago was significant.
Now, if you read my post from a few weeks ago, you'd remember that long hulls aren't my favorite, I'm retarded when I get on one. So I didn't try flips or anything big, but hitting a setup wake, the ski launches. If I could get one in my ski I have no doubt I could flip it. I really wish I could afford one, but setting up that motor is out of my budget. Perfect motor for the guys like us who are chasing boats all day, but can still launch off of a setup wake.
