Freestyle Affordable Power......... It's COMING

Here's an update on the +4mm 1021cc:
My 144mm 17/22 C75 Skat-Trak impeller came in earlier this week so I pulled my Solas pump out and switched impellers again. Given our current air and water temperatures (high 30's to low 40's air and 40's water) I installed an adjustable valve on one of my bypass lines to restrict the flow so I could keep some heat in the motor. I ended up with the valve almost closed. I also opened my low speed mixture screws to accommodate for the cooler air temperature.

My testing was fairly brief but I was able to determine that the 17/22 is enough pitch to load the motor throughout the RPM range and eliminate the spinning off idle. My peak RPM has dropped from 7900 to 7560 going from the 16/20 to the 17/22. At this point I believe I will end up somewhere between the 16/20 and 17/22 for my final pitch selection as the 17/22 loads the motor a little more than I want, but now I know that the Solas 144mm pump is at least a viable option for this motor. Unfortunately I am going to have to finish testing impeller pitches in the spring when the temperatures come back up.

Now that we are in our off season here in Minnesota I am starting to get things together for my next build, a -4.3 Carbon Superfreak Badass with a second +4mm TPE 1021cc and possibly a larger pump.

Eric.

Glad to hear you got the prop figured out. That freak is going to be sweet on Tonka, you'll be on top of the food chain. It'll be cool to see it when you have it finished, congrats!

Hi, I am interested in the 1105, but currently running XFS with 950 Dasa, MSD TL, 155 Skat, mikuni dual 46's, b-pipe (soon to be RRP pipe), if l went to the 1105, will l need to upgrade carbs?

if so, what carbs does Erik recommend with the 1105?

Ok just got my 148mm setback pump, going with the nynja triple threat pipe combo, so what carbs and size should I get for the964ss? this is going into a superjet, then maybe an A/M hull next year.
Cheers Ray

You're giving up a fair amount of performance with anything less than a Full Spec/Novi 48-49 on either one of these, or any 900Cc + engine.

Just finished testing/tuning a customers 8 mil Dasa (950), and even with well tuned 46s, there was a significant loss in performance from the old 48 Full Specs we pulled off.

What would be really cool would be a new thread. Like a "affordable power is HERE" thread lol. Make it like a jet maniac thread where the first few posts are yours and you can edit them as time goes by with updated pricing, pictures, and videos. I know your website is pretty good too and covers most of this info. But info here also wouldn't hurt by any means. Plus you could obviously have the link to the website there too. Just an idea. No biggie. I love what you guys are doing and I can't wait to buy a 964!
