Freestyle Affordable Power......... It's COMING

[QUOTE"kevbo, post: 1602706, member: 2781"]Maintenance in the jetski world occurs sometime after it quits running.[/QUOTE]
Yeah, I was ridiculed in a thread not long ago for doing tear down inspection, hone/rings at 50 hours. Run it till it blows seems to be the norm.

So if compression and fuel determines how long a motor lasts Keith, how long will my motor with 185 compression and 93 octane last? Aren't you building these?

js/sj didn't you write last night it needs a strip down after 15 gallons ? then remove your post? Is 15 gallons not a weekends worth of riding?

Seems no one really knows the "life" of a tpe. Even the ones that keep praising how "great" they are can't give a potential new customer a strait ANSWER... What do tpe owners see when they pull the head off????

You'd see pistons and water passages (for water migration). Maybe most TPE owners don't know the life expectancy because they are all still running. It basically depends on the life of the crank

Id love to hear some honest input on how these engines are "wearing" but, i doubt theres even a TPE out there with 100 hours on it? They are still pretty new to see what their "life expectancy" is.
Id really like to try out one of the 1105's.

I hear they "live" up to expectations. I think it would be "great" to own one.

does anyone really know the life of any high performance motor? I don't think there is a good ANSWER...

There are surely variables that can play a part in shortening life expectancy, such as detonation, lack of lubrication and the all important maintenance/replacement/periodic inspection of moving parts, sealing surfaces. Lack of the aforementioned and poor tuning seem to play a big part in premature catastrophic engine failures. I doubt the TPE is anymore or less susceptible than other engines on the market, though I personally have only viewed not run one.

Dont get me wrong, i was not at all doubting these engines in any way. Ive heard great performance reviews and as i stated above, id LOVE to try one.

ok now that all the "smart ones" have spoke, again. Ask Eric to explain any problems that the consumer must be aware of. One big concern to all is how much water(ya, MIGRATION :)) goes through/out it. As said, I'm a kid that knows little.

When a person posts a question and does not get the truth, or is misguided my concern is more the awareness of all.. I don't know everything, not close but do know MORE than some may think.. blind faith has two sides...
