I'll be getting a TPE come this winter. Rode Dan's in Virginia, awesome.
What was the setup
TPE 964 (sbt crank), power factor pipe, dasa 48mm carbs, Vforce 3 reeds, PHP intake manifold, MSD total loss, Solas pump, and P&P tuning.
Oh, the kicker it's only 180 pounds of compression. Good old cheap pump gas.

Sometime in the summer. May come out there before finals, not sure. It's a bit far to drive and bring a ski unfortunately.

Any testaments to the reliability of these engines?

I have the prototype 1105 and have had zero issues. Nikasil will hold up to water intrusion better than a sleeved cylinder. So where are we going with reliability? I guess the same as any other engine the big factor will be the crank. Don't start off with junk and you won't end up with junk.

theres lots out there. hopefully some will chime in. I'd love to get a big engine but i want something reliable that I dont need to rebuild every 15 or 20 hours. I really hope this is the one

Not sure how many Hours Zimmy has on his, but I'm sure it's a few. Mine's barely broken in at maybe 20 gallons at most and is super happy. I'm lucky to get out once a week for a tank or two. I'll do a tear down this winter, just to see what's up, but I'm very confident it's going to be golden. The linear power is so much fun. No light switch anywhere in the power band. Well except for maybe off idle to pinned... Loving mine.

just putting this out there for whats its worth, I have 80 plus hours on my tpe stock stroke, and its still running strong. That being said I will probably do some routine maintenance like a good rider and check the crank and other essential parts that could fail. This motor setup has measured up to all expectations and the some.

I've been running my 964 all season with zero issue. I've run about 40 gallons through it since wave daze in april. Everyone that has ridden it has been highly impressed with its power.
