Did you have to do that much work on the intake grate to get it to fit, or did you just choose to do it. Please take video when you ride em! I cant wait to see these in action! Its so much fun watching this project coming together! I am very envious. Great work guys!

A L O T of work on the intake grate

I polished my intake grate a little but only because I had the tool out and the intake grate laying next to me at the time. Does making it smooth really make a difference?

I smoothed mine out a bit, then enameled it in black to help out a bit more. Don't know how much it helps, but it looks like water will slip through better.

I wanted mine to fit perfect and make the track smooth... These big motors make a lot of power so the pump, intake area , pump shoe are very important. On the front two bolts I cut over 1/4 off the front and made it fit directly into the front of the pump shoe, then counter sunk the screw heads, after all that grinding I took all the JD letters off, smoothed out all the edges, then silconed it in and smoothed out the track at the front and rear so it has no sharp corners, etc to make caviatation before the pump.

It's all done, fired right up.... My kids have football games at 9:30 after that it's off for a water test....

Loving the turf. My paint scheme will be a variation of the bright orange I had on my previous Superjet, with some teal, blue, and green thrown in. I think that turf you have would look great on it.

Quick lake test to see how she runs.... Motor rips, had to adjust the PV's a little, lost a pump bolt on the trim bracket. Picture of this BF was no trim, & PV's not opening.....

Got two tanks on it today, really love this ski.... The weather sucked, really windy!

Ski rides great, got my first Surf stance Backflip today....

Now its 4 days of cold before I can ride again, this sucks

Airboxes are close, the rear one is hitting my hood. May have to switch back to Proks (Which suck imo, unless ur ski runs on water lol) ,

That sucks....I am just taking my A/M flame arrestors off and going back to stock because I am sick of water ingestion.
