Other anti gravity batteries

I've cut open a few dead Ballistics and one was easily repaired by resoldering broken connection . They were extremely stingy with solder at the Chinese factory. The cells are encased in silicone so wasn't able to get to the bottoms of cells , but re soldered all the top connections.

Two of the ballistics had corrosion due to water getting in . They both failed due to soldered connection breaking , but due to corrosion they were not worth fixing.

Vibration and impact caused them to die. Nothing to do with starter use.
If they could be sealed better at factory and some good connections put on the cells they would last. Also got to be carefull not to over tighten bolts on top .

I may very well have killed myself here LOL, rode one tank and battery was dead as he!! last night. I am hoping the starter is bad and drained it. The battery quickly took a charge to full 13.72 volts last night. When I hit start button with TL switch off it draws to 11.32 V. The starter started making a weird noise yesterday though Squalling when you release the start botton so I am kinda HOPING it is the starter. Sad that we would prefer a starter replacement over a freakn battery but at the high cost of these batteries we need all we can get out of them. Mine is a 16 and has functioned well since February. Will know more tonight when I swap the starter. I know if this thing dies before I get a season out of it then I will be going back to a Deka 12, heavy but reliable.

Between me and chad we killed 5 this summer. 4 in the last month and a half. Yes we know how to take proper care of lithiums. I just purchased a few earthx batteries to see if anything can hold up. I am almost ready to pull the plug on the lithium scene. I will keep u all posted if the earth x are any better. We will run them in a 10mm 1100 and 16mm 1200 both with TL and race gas for the test. I hope to god these hold up better. Batteries are starting to be a major cost of building these skis now.

I installed my new EarthX battery today. It's a bit longer and wider than the AG battery and it's also a bit shorter. I'm running the Cold Fusion micro battery tray and all I had to do to make it fit was cut off the one side. The EarthX battery fits width wise perfectly, it was just a bit too long for the tray. It still fits in the same location in my hull by the bulkhead by the exhaust manifold.

On first fire up it already seems promising. It was a cool morning, only about 10* celsius and it turned over hard and fast. Even when my AG battery was brand new it would only turn over my motor for 2 seconds max on cool days like today. I would have to wait about 30 seconds to let the battery build again before trying to start it again. Not so with the EarthX battery, mind you I am running their ETX36C on their recommendation which is their biggest battery available, but it still only weighs 3.5lbs.

I'll keep you guys updated as I do some riding with it.

thats strange if you ag batt was needing 30 secs between turn overs. Everyone ive seen will crank the piss outa any motor no problem until they are completely dead

I was on my third 16 cell before I went to EarthX and all three were the same, the only way they would crank the piss out of my motor was if I had the spark plugs out. Otherwise, it would only turn over for a couple seconds max, maybe it's because I have a 1200 running on race gas compression? Truerider411's was the same way with his 1100.

Well I am part of the statistics myself ,I killed my 16 cell in 2 weeks and my charger, my friend killed is 12 cell in one weekend with out total loss, another friend 2 16 cell with in 2 months with a charger and is a high performance mecanic and 2 other guys with 12 cell and 16 cell plus one guy with brand new ballistic died in 2 weeks, I am very surprise about the poor service with anti gravity I am going back with Odyssey or deka, they suck

mine took a charge but died quickly again. Does not appear to have a leak and it didnt burn it up.

That's what happened to my 16 cell. Would charge and work but got worse and worse until it died after turning the engine over just once or twice.

My 12 cell won't hold a charge very long now, after 4hrs it's at 12.2 volts....add me to the AG graveyard. I know another rider that went through a 16 cell in 4-5 weeks. Did someone mention class action lawsuit ?
