any one have one of these for transporting?

I was planning to convert my single trailer into a double but I think I may have to think about going this route. If I configure it so that I can open the hatch of my 4runner I'd definitely be in. Something to think about.

Don't think that is going to work..... with these things you want the ski as close to the vehicle as possible, the farther away you hang them out the greater the stress is on the hitch. Not sure of the max tongue weight on a 4runner but inches makes a huge differance when you have 300lbs sitting on the end.... something to think about. Also hanging back to far the thing will scrap coming out of parking lots etc.

I made mine for 50 bucks...It weighs about 75 lbs and can handle more than the hitch is rated for.

These pics were before the trip to destin for spring break. TOYS :Banane01:

Thats right, my jetski trailer is a bike trailer too!

It looks to me like your bike's suspension is compressed all the way down for transporting? If it is (hard to tell exactly), that puts a lot of strain on the valving, etc inside that shock. You could probably let it up some. I believe they also have an item called a 'Canyon Dancer' that is handy for transporting. Check into that.

I understand what you mean, but if I can't open the gate its not a deal breaker. I used derms setup a week ago and it did well. I went to back into beachjunkie's driveway and had to be sure I didn't scrape. The tongue rating on the hitch is 500lbs. If I could lower it I'd be set but again, clearance would suck.

a sweet idea i came up with would be one that rotates so the bunks are extended the same way the tires are orientated on the car. this way you can back it down the ramp a little and still be able to get the ski on the back. then rotated again to perpendicular so its up nice and close.

but making it work would be impossible imo.

I have a 4 runner, and you can't open the hatch with a ski on there. Not even close. My back window rolls down, so I can still get stuff in there.

Wishful thinking I guess, it does sit very high. If I build something I'd def have to do something with lights also, the 4runners are almost entirely blocked. I love the opening back window.

I run straps around the bumper around the front and back of the ski to the bottom of the rack....holds it super tight!

does anyone just use the truck bed and back down untill the bed is in the water and pull the ski up in?

we've done it that way, the bed doesnt go all the way in the water, but far enough to be able to get the ski in. Just be careful, wet bed liner is slippery!

Man I wish I could weld, I wanna add my sj to the front of my couch trailer. I got room to do it, but I need to weld in two beams to attach bunks too.
I wanna take out the walk board, and put the rear of the ski inbetween the couches and then let its sit like that. I think that would work???!! I Can push the couches back a bot still.. I Could also put the sj sideways.. but I need to get it on there some how. What you guys think?

sideways would prob be easier to get it on/off without unloading the other two.
(use a cart or something to launch).

well, I always go out with at least one other person, so I thought nose front would be easiest. I can drive it up the center of ther trailer right on. Or use a wench.

Parallel with the other skis is fine if you have enough room... mine's like that but the ski nose goes in between the couches to a winch stand with the tray towards the vehicle. It's easy this way to just slide the ski a foot towards the vehicle then rotate perpendicular to the couches to slide onto a cart. I see it as it doesn't make too much a difference on tongue weight either way and gives you extra room as the other way limits turn radius when backing up.... I'd hate to jackknife the trailer, vehicle and my ski.

I removed the winch stand for my single => dual standup conversion but it was in between the two skis on that one cross member.

Just mount 2X4's on the sides of the walk board and strap the ski on that. I used the same thing a few years back. I mounted the ski backwards so that the majority of the weight would be near the axel plus the standup can be slid farther back. The nose will ride under the side of the couches.

Here is a picture but not a good close up picture

ive done that everytime at the lake. usually go to couple inches above the water when dropping it in and it hits the nose EVERY time  get it back in the same way!
