This is my boy Woogy. His full name is woogmaster flex. He is part doberman, part rott and part pitbull according to the vet. Don't mind the beads, he was at a holloween party. Crazy dog loves to party....woogs.jpg

Upside down rottweiler attack stance. I would feel sorry for anyone trying to break into my house, they would have a 110 lb lap dog trying to lick their face...

Grew up with a blue tick named Sadie. She was the best coon hunter around.

Well, i may be on the hunt for a dog... Ive never owned one. My lady has a small Pomeranian and is surprisingly very well behaved.
My question is, how in the world do i go about picking the right dog??

Dont you travel a lot? Like months at a time? Im not being judgemental, I just think thats something to definitely consider when getting a dog.

Do you have space for them to run like crazy, or do you need a lazy dog?

Im a fan of rescue dogs....my (moms side) of the family are fans of paying for multiple $3000-4000 golden retrievers. Is one better than the other? Not really....seems the expensive dogs end up having way worse health problem long term.

I was thinking the same thing, I remember you being gone a lot on ships? Definitely can't bring them there, would your girlfriend be able to take him? What happens if y'all were to break up (not being negative) but my dog started out as me and an ex's "our dog".

Also, pure breads do have way more health problems from all the in-breading, no matter what the "papers" say or how "champion blood lined" the dog is.

If you do decide to get a rescue, simple go to a local petsmart or pet store that does recur day. It won't take you long for you to find your dog, or them find you.

Excellent response!

Yes i work way from home 1/2 the year. We ( I ) have a house. I dont see her going anywhere.. Shes great with hers. Weve been talking about getting a dog, MAYBE. She wants another cute little fluffy thing... I say no.. 1 is enough.
I think rescuing one would be the way to go also. This is something completely new to me so i figured id ask!
