I noticed the younger riders are more standoffish. But I just ask if they want to burn one. The next thing you know, you got a new ridin buddy. "Works for me.":Banane09:

that works great in a suprisingly large amount of uncomfortable situations.

i don't think most are anti social
maybe ( just because that is how i am) they are just shy

i might come off as stand offish or rude but it's just shyness i think

dunno
i do find most to be very cool though that i have met

I run into something a little different than most stand-up riders do. . . . . . .

I call it the "Old enough to be their Dad factor" Lol ! But, hey it's all good at least I'm out riding and having fun, right ? !

How many of you guys have Dads that are my age (47) that are out riding a heavily modded Superjet on the weekends ? (and building a custom SXR)

Am I bustin' backies and barrel rolls ? . . . . . . nope. . . . .

Am I having an absolute blast doing what I'm doing ? . . . .

Damn right I am ! !

Well, i wouldn't say I'm killing it, but compared to the high speed diggers they were taking, I was killing it. But eh, I'm jumping waves, subs, whatever. No rolls and flips or course. I kind of felt bad for the one guy, just WOT and falls over, man, saw him do that a few times, ouch.

Oh well, I'll try to be more annoying next time I suppose. Also, our "dock" isn't much of a dock. Basically a launch with enough room on either side for a boat to be held by someone while the truck gets parked. So no real chill time, kind of lame, but the lake is warm and seems to be a fair amount of wake boarders living on the lake.

thanks guys!

Ha! my wife says I'm a dork cause I have to wave people in so I can say "Hey, cool you ride a standup- check out the X, and hope to ride with you sometime."

maybe part of the problem is they are embarrassed because they are not good and are new to standups. break em in and tell em how it is. then point them here and you will be the man!

Oh and don't listen to saki- he is just jealous of the flatness of your water. he has to ride waves...

I just got back from 2 weeks of riding in Kelowna BC. I stopped and chatted with every standup rider I saw. I got some numbers and we all hooked up during the week to get more riding in. Most of them were so happy to see another rider, plus get to show off their skills. The g/f just rolled her eyes at me but whatever...I made some new friends and learned some new moves.

I even had some couchers stop my g/f's dad on my GSXL and ask him why their rental machines didn't go as good as good as it did.

I'm a super social guy. When I'm out on the ski I talk to everyone. I even talk to the sitdown people. When I'm out on my boat, I wave to everyone that goes by. People on my boat always ask why I wave all the time? I think being on the water just brings the best out of me. I even go as far as helping people at the ramp getting their ski or boat off/on the trailer. I have met people like you asked about. I have even met them at freedrides like Kurt mentioned. Just the nature of the beast I suppose.

Eh....for me, it's not having to do with standups. I'm just an unsocial asshat.

Seriously, I don't know why I am top poster. It takes me more than 6 months to start talking to people.

For real man? I would have thought the exact opposite. If you're like that it's because you use the computer screen to hide behind  I've known some people that had social anxiety and they had similar traits.

It's probably different meeting someone I've talked to on here for a year.
At last year's Blowsion party, I ran into Sub and chatted with him for a while.

However, we were both drunk.
