are all standup riders antisocial???

Don't know....Standup guys I've met have become instant buds. Sitdown guys tend to look at me like I'm odd....or maybe the wizard holding the true spirit of Jetski. I can't go 65 mph, but recently a guy let me run his new 4 stroke seadoo because I "ride standups in the surf".

I still got bored with the sitdown and returned it in 20 minutes :).

Well, I picked up a superjet, so we'll see if that changes anything haha. I ride the X2 better as of now, but hoping to meet some people local soon! Gonna try and hit more freerides up here in the northwest to meet those guys, but nothing like making a call or two and having people show up at the local lake...

I rode a 15F the other weekend... that thing was bad ass!!!! Un f'ing real handling... It's actually faster off the line than my buds Blaster and just a tad slower than my ski

I thinkit must be the area that you live in, they say that the state of washington has the highest suicide rate because of the wether. It probably isn't you but a lack of sunshine that pisses everyone off.....

I've been busy/out of town the last couple of weeks, and I missed this whole thread. Time to chime in. I guess maybe I should be the one guy here taking this whole "standup riders (especially in WA) are antisocial" thing personally. I'm not antisocial. The fact is, I just don't like X2 people... should I sit? Should I stand? Hmm? Hmm?

So now that you have a SJ I suppose we can be friends.

I usually end up riding solo around here, but only because most of my buddies are into the whole "they still make those things?" mode. My schedule is organized chaos, so I usually just hit the water on a few hours notice. Around here I mainly ride Steilacoom and American Lake, occasionally the Sound.

Definitely plan on some Freerides... I've only made it to one, but it was a blast. And most of the dudes are pretty social, even if you have an X2. Snackem has an X2, but I'm not sure if it even floats.

Anyhow, that's my story. Next time you manage to hit one of those lakes, fire me a PM.

...and I really don't have a problem with the X2. It's just easy to pick on.

I think the problem is most standup ridders have little man sindrome..... It shows by how most of them hate sitdowns.... envy is usally showed in the way of hate ;-) if you start falling off they might come talk to you so they can brag about how cool they are!

i think most sit down riders have fat man syndrome... half of them couldnt ride a standup if they wanted to.... but you are right we hate sitdowns because of little man syndrome, not bc they take NO skill to ride and do nothing but go fast with the exception of a couple.

So I should hate you becasue you drive a car?? doesnt take any skill to do that and I ride a bike... So its naturall that I should hate you? And trust me even a fat guy can ride a standup!

And sorry but a standup is not hard to ride...

1.yes you should hate me bc i drive a car
2. the people i ride with on a regular basis ride couches, so its not that i hate all of them, just the ones that dont know sh*t and go flying around on the water with no respect for anyone else out there.
3. you may be able to ride a standup in a straight line easily if you have never before, but it takes skill and practice to become remotely good on one.
