Super Jet At a loss...trying to get running before the season ends

Ski will crank but won't fire. Every so often it will hit, blow out a puff of smoke and then die. Here's what I've done:

Changed plugs
put a light on the plug wire. It lights up so its getting spark
Replaced one way valve on tank
dumped gas and refueled
inspected waterbox
deleted primer and fuel selector. reserve strait to carb in
inspected/cut back all fuel line
tore carb down..twice. its spotless. I'm about to go put it back together again
Pulled flywheel cover. Bone dry.
pulled reed cage. Had jetmaniac send me known good intake assembly

Put some gas down the intake and in to the plug holes. Same thing. It will crank and occasionally fire up for a split second then die. I don't think it getting fuel but I don't understand how.

I know I need a new battery. It's on its way. For now I jump it with a battery charger when I try to start the ski.

Compression? Leak down test? Possibly sheared woodruff key?

Compression is 150/150. Haven't leaked down yet or pulled the flywheel though.

I know you checked the carb, but did you check the little filter in the carb?

That got me earlier this year.

Internal filter looked brand new

Did you happen to notice that on those times when it actually fires it is right when you let go of the start button?

No, I wasn't paying attention to that at all. What does that mean?

After all this cranking, are your plugs wet?

Plugs are dry

When I pull the fuel line each time I go to pull the carb it squirts out at me so I take that to mean there is no leak in the circuit.

I just finished bolting the carb back up. This time I soaked it in carb cleaner and blew it all out with compressed air. Wish me luck, about to go crank...

I don't have an enhancer. I have a 61x cdi. I used it to replace my faulty 6m6 cdi last season that would mis fire and sound like it was on one cylinder.

This is exactly when it fires. I just got it to hit for a split second and it was right when I let go of start
It's more than likely the pulser coil on your stator plate. Check to be sure the wiring leading to your stator isn't knicked/cut. If necessary, pull the stator plate and inspect the coils. I found the thread below very helpful when my SJ did the exact same thing:

It sounds like a bad CDI to me as well but I have only seen MSD enhancers go bad, the symptoms where the same.

Are you sure you have not sheared the flywheel key and your flywheel has moved. this would throw your timing off. I had a case once where the white wires in the electrical box got crossed and it would only fire when you let off the start button (Crap, I think they were white. been a long time, 2 wires that are of the same color.) But this was with an enhancer.

Agree with the electrics theory and timing possibly off.....dumping a cap full of fuel in the carbs should always get it to run or even scream for 10-20 seconds or so

But if the timing is off, then it will just pump that fuel out through the exhaust. as you let off the starter, there may be a temp loss of pressure and some lag in the charge getting pushed out and will get some spark an a short firing of the cylinders. but nothing that will let it run.

Well this flywheel is STUCK hard. I don't know if it's ever been taken apart. So right now I sprayed some pb blaster in there and am calling it a night till tomorrow on my lunch break. Any tips for getting this thing off?
