BA Freak (155 conversion) & carbon circus

Pic of edge that was repacked, ready for final filling and touch up sanding.
It actually came out a lot better than I thought it would, the edge looks pretty decent minus a slightly thinner spot on the inside lip.

Here’s the worst part.. lots of blending will need to be done here. The edges are tapered out and I’ll have to blend my carbon in before a final thin skim coating of epoxy to sand out.

The top section actually blended very well, there’s a high spot I need to correct on the bend but the shape came out nice. View attachment 426428
Looks good!

Sanded… need to finish top left ear.. then more pin hole filling.. then more sanding.. anymore hand sanding I’m going to puke.
If the center wasn’t so thin I would finish the shape out and paint this section .. but I think I’ll be building it up with carbon and laying a finishing layer before paint.

Turf in progress… Have been hitting Don with every conceivable question and he hasn’t got tired of me yet :)
Going to post pics when imma little further along so I can hide more of my f-ups lol
Specifically the f’up in the specific spot Don told me I would tear my turf in..

Awesome thread, I just picked up a freak myself. One of the major issues is that one of the ride plate bolts snapped. With the window you cut, did you see those inserts or do you need to cut more underneath the foothold area?

Congrats!
I was able to reach everything with the area I cut out, it wasn’t comfortable but very doable. Be careful you don’t cut to deep and hit anything important.

Finally got my housing back from the machine shop, getting ready to drop the core in.

Onto the rails! It came out good minus a few spots here and there. Oh and you know the left and right side patterns not matching LOL.
Hands down that was the hardest turf work I’ve ever had to do, absolutely hated every second of that lol.
Huge thanks to Don for the tips on working with this hull.

Finally. Would sell the ski before I turfed it again. DAF8BEA7-EBF4-4019-9269-396CE5921667.jpegCDB312AA-24F4-42B2-A410-37F92A8C4F13.jpeg

Can anyone tell me if the old school xmetal trim setup will fit on a 155 reduc nozzle before I rip it off the other ski? Would rather run that over this RRP setup.
