Ah nice! Whats the plan for the circus?
I’m going to continue riding the badass until I have the circus cleaned up enough to ride. Then I’ll transplant everything over and the badass will go up for public sale assuming none of my buddies want it first.
Circus is in somewhat rough shape, needs cut open and some minor repairs below deck.

Here we go…

Take note to the trim tube that’s completely corroded off and floating in my hand.
Neither of the cooling lines hold pressure
This ski is in need of some love!
At some point it was allowed to sit with salt water in it…

Oh yeah, she’s a little rough around the edges !
All the lines are gutted minus shaft toob.
I’m going for something new this time.
1/2 stainless thru hull fittings, 3 sets, and heavy duty rubber lines with stainless ring crimps. Not sure if I want to use pex. Either way I was never a fan of aluminum tubes. I figure this thing will end up back in the ocean and no matter what you do they ALWAYs find a way to take on water. Might as well make it salt proof ish.
As far as the steering cable fitting, that’ll be non metallic sealtite.
Trim tube will probably be the same depending on what style system I want to run.

For the water and trimtube you could go with stainless thru hull fittings and crimp on some highgrade silicone hose, should last forever.
I will drill some drains in mine before getting it all back together

Yea I saw that injun painted freak a couple years back for sale complete with one on those billet non power valve top end kits that ADA used to sell. I thought about it but didn't buy. Snoozed many years ago on those dirt cheap ADA kits too. Should have bought a few of those. I miss the ride of the freaks

Waterlines are in, there is absolutely no room on the pump side bulkhead for fittings. Somehow this sucks even more then the badass did…
I got my 1/2 stainless barbs on and sealed and my lines clamped on.
Have to figure what I’m going to do for trim tube yet, kinda a PITA.
Probably going to have to go 3/4 NM liqitite again. I think I’ll be putting a steering cable fitting on the inside bulkhead for the trim cable this time and the pump side will just have to come out of the ski and have its edges sealed.
I hate not having a physically fastened fitting on both sides of a tube but my hand is almost forced

finally, a breakthrough in superfreak technology… superior weight reduction (because my skill will obviously be hindered by mere grams) and impervious to salt!
Steering cable fitting on the inside of the hull to eliminate the use of half ass rubber fittings and silicone, a female 1/2 pvc adapter that threads perfectly onto the fitting, and 1/2 pvc pipe. Pvc cement, both inside the coupler and on the pipe because of course the glue isn’t actually glue but a chemical that heat bonds the pvc, and thru hull marine adhesive sealant on the pump side. Truly a modern miracle of lager fueled engineering !
Thank god I’m an electrician or these high quality materials would’ve blown my bank account apart!

On my Circus I believe it had a 3/4 or 7/8" stainless trim tube. I was able to use a pvc fitting, cut the OD down in a lathe so that it was a press/glue in fit to the trim tube and then tap the ID of the plastic to thread in a cable gland. I believe it was a PG9 gable gland. https://www.amazon.com/Black-Plastic-Cable-Glands-Connectors/dp/B00TGOHAU4 that fit inside. Basically the same thing as the steering cable gland but much smaller. It was big enough to fit my oversized trim cable but small enough to fit in the circus tunnel next to the pump.

Got the tray closed up and turf on, the rails will be redone next summer and the right foothold is ugly but I’ll be patching it back up for now. Also laying up a carbon ride plate or two to get rid of that turd.
