If you go back and look , I came into this thread asking questions , "who else has a crackie chan?" , "How thin is too thin?" , "How much volume is lost in this exhaust tube?". Then I get The Buzz defending his buddy by trying to belittle me and others , only to find out I've been (and hundreds of others Im sure) have been running 650 gaskets in westcoast heads with zero issues for longer than his "jetski career".
So back to asking questions for me ....
Will this effect this crackie chan? I cant tell if its a crack or loose/folded/bunched up carbon that was cleared over ....

Oohhhh but it's so sparkly!

Are those lines in the carbon weave glass tracers? That stuff is always on clearance over on US composites.

It looks like it cracked due the someone stepping on it and having a lot of pressure on the inside of their foot. That was my first though because of the shape or line or the crack.

Like some said people are on a band Wagon so I think what happen to Christian and Tyler hulls suck and isn't proper business yes but everyone that is bashing Steve that hasn't't delt with him is also wrong for doing it but if Steve wants to destroy his hull building business because of a few issues that he could fix then let him but at this point I think the horse is dead Steve doesn't post here he's done and his molds are for sale let some one else pick up the molds and try to deal with deadline and guidelines of customers

I haven't dealt with him personally but 3 close friends got the last 3 chans. I've been in close communication with all 3 and even been in the room when they have been on the phone with Steve.

In my opinion screwing one person over is too many in the community. Never mind 3 in one shot.

Yea man, I wasnt saying it wasnt. I was just saying, to me, that is how it looks like it cracked.
You can see the clear coat is over the area but not cracked like whats under it. Thats the face of the mold also , so it had to have happened from the time they pried it out of the molds to spraying clearcoat. It wouldnt look like that inside the mold , especially if your infusing/vacuming with all that preasure.

yea, that crack is created when the deck gets beat out of the mold. carbon doesnt release like glass does and thats where he hits it. all those sparkles are in the gel coat and nothing gets cleared or sprayed on the tray after it comes out. that crack is not cleared over and it doesnt go all the way thru.its not really a structual weakness since the bottom deck bonds across the back and closes it off. who puts any weight in that spot really? it is a visual booger and does give the hecklers another something out of nothing flaw like the pipe dent. i am extremely critical when i have work done by anybody. if i pay somebody, it better be done right with no flaws. its easy to make a big deal out of a flaw in the work of others, but when its you doing the job for yourself, do you tend to say its not a big deal?

I feel like I am taking crazy pills after reading your responses. If I got a hull in it with a crack like that, I would be furious. That is unacceptable. Logic and you...never once. Visual or not, that is not right.
