Everyont thinks you just throw some carbon and resin in a mold and presto a strong hull comes out. There really is more to figuring out how a laminate will withstand static and dynamic loads as well as shear strength. This is one of the formulas for macromechanics of a laminate... uploadfromtaptalk1399482073811.jpg

i'll bet every single one has been dented in that hillbilly way, but who cares. this one, the very first one is dented and it runs fine with its 1000cc dasa. i'll bet money that trickys is dented also and he runs the XS1400 with no i'll effects. have you seen the air he gets? not the way this pro would mod that pipe, but it does work. ever put footholds in an SXR? you have to reglass the hold to miss the pipe. i'm sure if he reglassed the hold somebody would bitch about that.
Yeah mine's dented
View attachment 247967 Thanks alot……I never would have looked!! Ignorance is bliss!

No no no!! Other reputable builders can't be doing something questionable that the great terrible Steve has done! How dare those builders take the wind out of your sails! LMAO!!!

I love these bashing threads. When everyone wants to pile on about things that happen in a lot of AM hulls. (really? Someone might drown because of creaky footholds?) I reluctantly agree with Buzz about the tray thickness. My understanding of the injection technique leaves very little excess resin so the composite is thin, but only because of how it is vacuum formed. But hell I dunno, maybe yours is way too thin.. I'm no expert, just repeating what I've learned. At the same time, as mentioned, if you think it needs a little extra, by all means beef it up! But until it fails, it's kinda lame to claim its faulty and start blaming/flaming the builder. And that's for any builder.

I'm no fan boy, I think some of this stuff y'all are posting is not acceptable if you're paying full price for something. But let me drop some knowledge.... If you're flaming about your problems on here and not contacting Steve about it you can pretty much expect nothing will be done. In no way am I saying that is right, but if you look at who has been left hanging, and how they act on here (i.e. Lawmaster) you'll see a pattern. I don't agree with it at all.

But if anyone remembers, I've got on here and bashed ole Steve, cause I was pissed, and I couldn't get him to respond. I don't have to tell you how well it worked. I've been down this road... I speak from experience.

As far as leaving folks hanging... I've told him multiple times he's hurting his business, he knows it.... But he does what he wants. That is the one thing you can count on, he's not going to be forced/ bullied/ shamed into doing anything he doesn't want to. Bash him, post neg feedback, take down/lock his threads, ban him... He's not going to budge.

IMO, if you need something, best bet is to contact him directly, work it out off the X. I assure you the chances of getting it resolved improve exponentially going that route, regardless how frustrating it is.

One time I texted him a picture of my balls just to get him to respond. It worked.

I'll play .... :) First of all ..... YOU GUYS ARE KiLLING OUR RESALE VALUE ! It's a fun hull with some problems . If you get one ..... plan on doing some reinforcing or repairs at some point . I think that goes with most AM hulls with only a few exceptions. If you are a builder you should do some layup test ,but at the end of the day is it realistic to expect any hull to take the abuse some are given ?

As far as ethics go , most by now should realize that ANY hull can be splashed for much less than 15000. In fact , the cost is penny's on the dollar and you would not have to mix the first ounce of resin. We don't have copy right bla bla bla in this industry. At some point it would seem disgruntled customers would say " Thanks for a great design and your hours of hard labor producing a plug for me ..... We will take it from here". I'm doing just that with a ride plate.... I have no other choice.

The other scenario is simply splashing a hull and selling the molds.... You think you can't splash a production mold for 2000 or less ..... think again.... What if someone just made molds and sold them ? Would you go in together with a few local friends and buy a 2000 dollar mold and try your luck rolling your own. One board member set this example with a stunt hull...... He free kin built a mold and pulled a ski in his down stairs kitchen ! I was there !

Ethics are a two way street.... Any builder making sub quality or not delivering as promised should keep this in the back of their mind. For the record this not specifically aimed at trendsetters more of a statement concerning the ethics in the industry.

Wow considering you were the one just doing this about another hull with zero facts but a huge boner for causing drama I'd have to say this is a very hypocritical statement and you are in fact a huge taint swinging fan boy
But I'm not bothered by it, I like how the Chan rides. Just wanted to point that out :)
Carry on fan boy

The people who bought the three hulls that are near me , one of which is in my shop, have done everything possible to talk with steve. Im so sick of hearing you and others say to lay off steve or try and just contact him ..... it doesnt freekin work. The dudes a tool. I waited and waited till the owner of this ski was forced to go and buy his hood hinge parts from somewhere else and basicly said Im done with steve before I posted anything. The only thing we want from Steve is for him to feel it in his sales , anyone who buys from steve is a retard.

There are hulls out there that the tubes arent dented , aquabot , rickters , bullet , matrix ..... what did they do that the others cant figure out?

Maybe Steves too busy setting up another drug house with his dad to respond to customers ... ?

.

If you get the hull out of the crate and step into the footholds and hear snap crackle pop , its a POS hull . Built by someone who has no pride. Do you really think that hull will have any chance withstanding abuse? Stick a 230 lbs guy on it in the surf and your going to have issues. Sorry if your concerned about your resale value but I for one would have rather seen some honesty in this comunity so a person like steve doesnt keep screwin people. I would have happier friends right now.
