Having a kid has made me intolerant to my dragging on X-Jet rebuild, my wife recognized this and made my first fathers day amazing and gave me the okay to buy a new (used) hull. Right about this same time a local rider decided to upgrade from his 2014 Fiberglass BC to a Rickter and I was in the right place at the right time.
Everything that was supposed to go into the XJet will go into this, and I will finish that project up later this year. This is much more of an assembly thread than a build thread, which is AWESOME!
The basics are:
KP Freeride handpole
718, ProTec cast cyinder, 62t cases, dual 46s
FP mod chamber
H2O Flowbox
Stock ignition, MSD enhancer, lightened flywheel
144 stock pump, 12/17 cutback swirl, stubby cone

I got a chance to ride the hull prior to purchasing and was blown away by how stable it was. Pretty pumped with how it rides, should be on the water in a couple weeks.

I do too, I have been on only naked bikes and supermotos for a while. The Z1 is great for a tall guy like me, not all cramped up. Little man has been awesome, he has been sleeping through the night for the past couple months, and just hit 5 months a few days ago. Can't complain.

Looking good! Can you describe the ride of the Chan more, especially in comparison to other skis you have riden?

I haven't spent much time on any aftermarket hulls other than my old WDK Rev, my Xjet and my Gen1 BOB so my experience is pretty limited but being the BOB is the only thing I can really compare it to (the other two being pretty much a superjet), the difference is night and day. The hull feels very short and wide. I was expecting a very nose high ride at low speeds but right off the bat I was able to cruise through a pretty long no wake zone standing up, it plains out quick and rides very flat at speed. This hull has a jet-dynamics intake on it and hooks up very well, almost too well for my liking but it turns quick and actually can carve, once you start to get up to higher speeds it is very tough to keep it from porpoising just due to the front and rear rocker but it handles short runs of WOT pretty well. It also has a front foothold that I think helps with keeping it stable and nose down just to get your weight forward where it needs to be, the PO had a very short Xmetal pole on it and I have mine set about 4"-6" longer than what he had so I am very curious to see how that changes the ride. I also got two plates, the one I rode it with hangs about 2" past the rear of the hull on the sides and comes out another 4" in the middle (around the pivot bolt for the steer nozzle) the other is the same length all the way across and probably 6" past the back of the hull. I thought originally I would want to switch to that one but after riding it, I like the short one. I was very pleasantly surprised by this hull, looking forward to getting used to it with my setup.

Put an SXR pole spring in and finished assembling the handpole, dropped a junker motor in to start mocking up plumbing and checking fitment .My cylinder got pushed out at the machine shop so I won't be able to start on that till next week, if I am lucky. It's close....the camera on my phone has been taking a dump lately, low light pictures really suck.

Nah, just a piece of cooling hose, I can't stand stepping on straps in the tray . I am super pumped to get it on the water, I gathered a ton of cool parts that I normally don't get to put on my skis. It's not on the same level as some of the amazing builds on here but it is by far, the nicest ski I have owned.

Trend setterz built hull...?

Absolutely, the only way I would buy one of these. (Not based on personal experience, just secondhand info from the internet)

That said, I have no idea what the durability or build quality of a fiberglass Trendsetterz hull is, not sure how many of them are out there. This hull does have an extra layer of carbon on the inside sides .

The glass one I saw and rode with was solid after a season of use.

After changing machine shops due to a backup in work I just got the call that my cylinder is done. I spent my lunch break assembling the bottom end and as much of the rest of it as I could without the cylinder. Going to pick up the cylinder after work and get it finished off this evening.

Got the engine in tonight, fuel line run, most of the cooling line in and everything in place. Just need to run to the store tomorrow for some more cooling line and Ill be able to fire it up. Spark looks good and compression is good, getting excited now.
