I got it all together, no start, pulled the ebox and swapped the coil, no start, swapped the MSD for a stock CDI starts and runs. Put it back together, no start, pull it apart, one of the coil bullet terminals broke, swap it out, starts and runs. Put the ebox back together and wrestle it back into place, no start, pull it out, pull the screws, starts and runs. Finally got a combination of ebox parts that starts and runs. Took it out for tuning and got it close then the carb coupler loosened up putting thethrottles plates out of synch. Fixed that, added a 2.5 seat to my stinger fitting and it runs wonderful. This Protec cylinder really rips from bottom to top (really strong mid and top) if you didn't know, you would never guess it's only 718cc, I am very happy with the ski as a whole, now to burn some fuel and, fingers crossed, just ride for the rest of the season.

I have had a chance to put some time on the ski and am really enjoying the ride. I banged my ribs up landing one handed on a nose stab and they have been really hurting me the past few weeks so I haven't ridden much lately. Some people where curious as to how the ski rode aside from the only backflip videos that are on youtube to I decided to put together a quick video of me just riding around the lake. This is how I spend most of my time on the water, I am not chasing the flatwater flip, just wanted a nice, light and flickable hull to mess around on since most of the riding I do is flat water local lake stuff. Eventually I will try and flip it, for now I am just trying to get used to it and get it dialed in.

Sorry, for whatever reason youtube killed the quality, even though it says 720.

  • How about a picture of that sweet front foothold. I just got my backie together. I LOVE it. I'm In love with the hull, but really like a front foot hold. Just having a hard time even thinking of cutting into this beautiful hull.

I can't get a good picture of what it looks like on the inside of the hull because my ebox is mounted to the top of it but here are a couple shots. The PO cut the turf up inside of it so he could jam a fire extinguisher in there if needed, I keep a tow rope under the turf flap and it doesn't impede the use of the foothold. I wouldn't like this ski nearly as much without the FFH.

I would love something like that. I just don't think I can make it look good. And hate to cut into visual carbon.

Nube, I made it to the sortie for the first time this year (only on Saturday). I was going to introduce myself and ask you about your ski, but never got around to it. That thing looked like it ripped! I'm really impressed now knowing it's only a 718, wow!!

I met sooo many new people that weekend, it was pretty cool, sorry we didn't get to chat. Next year come find me and you can take it for a spin. It runs really strong, I was pleasantly surprised by the Pro-Tec cylinder @SXR-FOREVER took it out and landed a couple rolls straight away. I think race gas domes and TL ignition would really boost the bottom end power, right now it's mostly mid and top.

So you got that hull. I was just asking about it. Great looking. I have an orange back in and love it, was wanting to get a carbon one but I see you made a nice home for it ha. You guys will love your chans. I've never seen as much cruising and carving on a Chan but that video from the OP proves it's a great all around hull!

Yea. I bought Amanda's hull and it truly is a great all around ski. It's definitely the nicest most expensive skis I ever built.

Chan looks solid Yamanube! I like mine but there's a few things I would change if I could do it all over. Its a great hull though. I wish I had a front foot hold. I mounted a strap for my left foot that keeps me in the tray pretty good.
So.... 46's on a 718? That seems like a LOT of carb for small motor.

Also your pole looks too long. You probably love it, and its probably fine. But i'm just saying that... it looks too long lol... :p

But hell yeah man, I dig your plan! Just cruise it. These hulls make small motors feel like monsters. I'm not chasing a BF either, but I might start attempting barrel rolls.... eventually.

What are your thoughts on your KP pole now that you've been running it for a bit?
