Beer

my little project last night:
882 caps
just went freestyle on it, no real plan just glued in the border and placed all the caps in so I knew it would be perfectly straight.
Took about 5 hours, but still have to glue all the inner caps. that should be another 4 hours at least.

Looks great! Is that a table?

Us composites make a great table top epoxy that works awesome for that. Just fill the gaps with a colored sand first.

I've done a bar top and two corn hole boards that way. Gotta get pics to post up here.

They are up on a shelf in my garage. I'll try to snap a pic tomorrow. I bring them to bbq's in the summer and lend to a lot of friends for parties. Always a cool talking point, conversation starter.

I built the bar top for my moms tiki bar when I lived home about five or six years ago. She had the colored sand. I would presume from a craft store? It was all neon colored.

I used dap wellwood to glue down the caps, then poured sand, leveled with a plastic spreader, then poured resin. The resin application is fun. You get to blow torch it to get it to thin and let all the bubbles out. The one gallon kit from us composites would be plenty for your project.

As always, do the resin work outside or in the garage and you have to build a dam of some sort all around the outside to keep it from just running away.

I'll snap a pic of the corn hole boards and it should explain more. I also asked my mom to search for pictures of the old tiki bar top. I'll post them up when she gets them to me.

Crappy cell phone picture I pulled from facebook from the day I made the corn hole boards. June 1st 2012.

The white trim was like an angled quarter round made of white plastic from Home Depot. Shot that together with a trim nailer as my form to pour the resin. I just used a bag of regular colored kids play sand on that project.

Pretty sure the resin was wet in that pic so it was hard not to get a reflection.

Cool cap design slutty. I never thought to do something like that.
I have to say in the past 6 months I've gotten into the craft beers. Got a sixer of the Flying Dog ragin bitch and sixr of New Holland cabin fever for tonite
Last week has Flyin Dog winter and Magic Hat snow roller. Both real good.

I brought beers for my future ex-girlfriend to try in Hawaii. All from my state. The airlines only destroyed about 4 outta 30 which is okay I guess

(edit: I have the Note 4, which is pretty much the best camera phone on the market. And somehow I manage to take a crappy photo....)
