Surfriding Best breaks in Florida?

I just hope for waves when a storm is brewing.
I hope that it stays away enough to give us waves. I dread boarding up my house.
I look at forecast models on www.stormpulse.com and intellicast.

TD4, this morning, looked like "Bill". (The best and biggest waves I've seen in Florida) Far enough away to save us misery, close enough to give us waves, close enough for that low psi to pull a west wind to glass the faces. And no worries about my home.

A lot of ingredients.....to be perfect.
It could happen.

you do realize, you have TOTALLY jacked up Tanner's thread, don't you?

Looks like a local already has dibs on that wave.

More like trying to get Dan to let some other people in Florida share their opinions, instead of chattin on about nothing really...he said he thought that was what Tanner desired, yet I am starting to doubt Dan...think maybe Dan just wants attention perhaps...don't know...time will tell.

I did review the thread, noticed the comment about the broken link...try it from here (and I will update the old thread to help out):

(and don't stalk me Matt...you're suppose to act like a mod...I don't like your red hair...:newangel:)

On the Hurricane Bill reference you keep bringing up Dan. Last year, I posted to another site, that the information I posted on this site was primarily for the benefit of the riders north of Florida, for I knew it could likely get bad there (and mother nature did indeed crank it up for them...there was carnage with mega downed skis...two skis rescuing ten or something like that.) I am glad nobody was seriously injured...we had like four "surf" threads going on within this site, and I did not wish to jump into all threads, so I chose the local one to get some details out...we had mega newbs on the site as well...best I can tell ya is always provide as much accurate info as you can, and let people make their choices.

Posting in the same thread as you is not stalking, don't flatter yourself. Can't do anything about the hair, sorry.
Edit: I was talking about the pic with the shark, in case that wasn't clear.

NIce pic...slutty rocks.
And you're right...about me anyway. (self designated spot due to personal reasons)

Personal reasons: it's too close. it's too easy. I'm too lazy, except for big events.

I think Tanner just loves to ride and wants to check out other spots & meet other riders. I could be wrong but I feel he started this thread as a vehicle to further his riding reach. It's easy to tell when you watch him ride....he loves it. And he's in no way about turf wars. He's a friggin' POPAMATIC!
Hell, he can't even hear you scream while he's riding. He's got some kinda waterproof ipod......jammin' death metal or something..lol

But not about turf.

Man! I was away for one day and this tread blew up!

Yep, Dan hit it on the head. I just love to ride and want to know if there are more good riding spots in my new state and meet new people. As of Aug 1st I have been here one year down from DC. And all I can say is that I have met the coolest people in the world in this sport. I easily have 20 riding buddies now. Dan is great cuz he lets me flush my ski at his place and borrow fuel lines, and beer. Josh is awesome because he introduced me to the spot, helped make my boat bullet proof, and is a wealth of knowledge. Fred is the man because he always helps me get my ski back up and running. Which at the moment is completely torn apart do to gremilns in the motor. He has been helping me with that for about 10 years now, write that book about skis already! Stanley is always ready to help me take the ski apart and tow me in. Scott knows more about skis than I ever will, and the first riding buddy I met here. Mike and Dice still rocking the x2 which never seem to work very long.

The entire east coast could have some killer surf very soon, if TD4 will help.

Right now it's forecast models are the same as "BILL"....which was, strangely, almost exactly 1 year ago. (Aug 15).
Granted, it could die, change coarse, come too close etc.... but we can hope!

Here's the surf-slut thread with links..

On that same coarse, if it gets stronger, it will generate groundswell like the west coast riders get. If it comes close enough, but not too close, it's low pressure will cause west winds....Glassing off the faces.
It's a long shot, I know.
But a repeat would be AWESOME for all.

"I HOPE THE RIDE IS NOT A REPEAT" well atleast one part of it..

Thanks on the pic Dan (I'll clean it up one day Nick, promise).

That's cool to read about Tanner! I'm not sure anyone thought he was trying to create a turf war (maybe help keep the site organized perhaps, lol), but I think that it is great you clarified and vouched for him anyway...very cool indeed!!

On that same line of thought...I am not sure if I have met you Tanner (only met you briefly Dan). I may have taken pics of you before Tanner, or chatted briefly...not sure (forgive me if I should recall please)! I hope to get to know you better one day, as well as watch you ride your ski in some sweet surf too!!!

Maybe some of you have one special pic you happen to like, at a place you think is special around here too! Just a thought!

And Edit for Tanner: I know Hugo! Just not too well with a ski! :)

Yeah suzy, we met briefly at the freeride this year.

I like hugo & matanzas. hugo is a bigger inlet and I have ridden some of the best surf there. Matanzas is a good break but it is just one of those places that makes you feel like you are in paradise. Are ridding group at Matanzas is a blast to ride and party with. Butti has a bad ass pontoon boat. Tanner definitely loves to ride, but he needs to fix that sinking ski.

Stan the Man! Hence why I'm "Titanic" now...hahaha. If I don't sink it at least once a ride I'm amazed. I did lots of glass work this weekend and fixed a lot of the cranks and leaks. Should be good now...i hope. Heading to orlando to rebuild the engine this weekend with Fred, crank is in the mail.
