Went ahead and carved up my old bedplates and powdercoated them chrome. Figure a little bit of bling doesnt hurt to bad....

Eitherway doesnt matter, They wont fit without taking the motor out first to install them. Plus I forgot how close the battery tray is to the motor... I'll have to grind out an entire corner.

I think I may just buy outterwears....

At least they look pretty.... =\

I'm feeling the need to do that to my 550 conversion. Does anyone know if any kawi pump cavity will fit? Like an x2 or a ts? or will a 650 sx only work?

I'd like to find a 650 hull somewhere close and try this out over the winter.

neither are close. both the 650ts and x2 are to wide on the flat runner and the chines do not come close to matching, also the x2 is much more odd in different proportions such as rideplate fitment and the way you flush it into the rear of the 550 hull. Even with the 650sx hull there is some flushing and matching to be done, but minimal...

Great updates! I want to try it out again soon!

Nice to know that when you are trailing me in the water, I wont feel like you are about to "unpredictably" run right over me (that was unnerving actually). Now you can just quickly/smoothly pass me by (and hopefully quietly).

Well, the spigots and jets will not be here till the end of next week so I'm thinking its time to drop the weight.

If everything goes to plan and it doesnt rain I will be pulling the motor and doing the following.

Grind out all the internal ribs

chopping up the bedplate, with my conversion rails there is more to be cut without the plate flexing.

Lightening the steering sub-plate

Chop/Lower hood 2"

Carbon fiber rideplate

And perhaps.... just maybe maybe maybe, carbon fiber replacement nose piece.

I figure overall i can drop a good 5-10 lbs

Welp.... I pulled the motor to do some general maintenance, some new motor mounts, new bendix, cleaning etc.

I cleaned out the engine bay finally, and ground down all the ribs and painted with some appliance epoxy. water and nuts can finally roll easily to the back of the bay without catching on all those annoying ribs the 550 has.

And then I decided to make a rideplate.

Still need to do final sanding and paint... Probably gonna cut it a lot shorter too...

Rideplate is to long, and Waay to damn slippery. Dunno why, its the same shape and dimensions as the original aluminum one....

Time for the D cut....

Should I save up for an X metal cylinder and a few new motor mounts?

I want flatwater backy...

Hey fox, what do you have in mind with a rn pole? I was thinking about reshaping my pole bracket area on my js hull to fit a rn pole and bracket on mine over winter, looks like that pole would fit great through the js hood and be low profile. You have inspired me to drop the big pin 750 in favor of a 701. Its in the works. Im not going the 650 pump yet though, im not ready for all that yet. Id have to say that im impressed with your build, great ideas for possibly one of the funnest hulls ever.

a round nose pole will bolt up, and it even fits in the 550 pole bracket. Since I'm already using a superjet turn plate (blowsion) and a superjet steering cable, it will be a bolt in process. Though I'm waiting till I can find an Xmetal at a good price.

Thanks for the compliments.

hey fox, i have a friend that is going to be putting his js hull in a cnc mill this winter and machining it to accept the 750 style pump. it will be glassed over then milled smooth for a matting surface. i think he/we will be pulling a mold to make it a glass in pump cavity available for anyone that wants it for a reasonable price.
