Do you have a chinpad? i didn't notice one in your pics. That padding looks like it would work good on a chinpad. It would be a real face saver now that you are going upside down.

Actually I'm out in the shed cutting the second part of my chin pad right now. But its going to be a 2 piece chin pad.. overlapping like armadillo armor. First piece connects only to the steering like pancake petes pad. The second piece will go just over top of it and bolt to the steering control subplate.

On a side note, I just saved myself an hour of agony. I was planning on blue printing my pump today/tomorrow... Randomly decided to browse through my whole build thread again. I forgot I already did blue print it. Lucky me.

Heres an hour or two of cutting and banging on a street sign.

Looks pretty cool if you ask me. Will look better with some black turf though.

Lol a street sign? I like the way you use anything on your ski, it kinda reminds me of myself. I plugged the top hood intake on my js with a trailer bearing cover, fit like it was made for it.

So whats up with the stuff you used for underpadding? Is it better/cheaper than the hydroturf stuff? Where do you get it?

Si.

Both are from walmart. The first dense layer of styrene is $5.88 and it is a camping pad, for sleeping on.

The second is the high quality neoprene Yoga mat. As you can tell it conforms SUPER easy.

Two layers of the styrene doesnt really feel right, and two layers of the neoprene is too gushy. But mixed together they feel AMAAAZING.

lol. pervs.

Ive picked that camping mat up a few times, I may try your secret recipe fox.

I stole a road sign once. I put it up in the garage window at my dads house. One day the mayor drove by and seen it, he tried to gripe me out and took my sign away from me. Those sign post makes great grind rails for skateboarding. Im going to turn you in fox.

yeah, as long as you grind down the end of the kingpins so they don't hang down past the trucks. destructos, grindkings, tensors, or deadbolts are the only ones I've ever had that didn't need to be ground down. you try to hit one of those rails with a set of new ventures, indy's, or thunders and you'll be kissin that mf'r...lol

Yeah, I miss those days of kissing concrete. I always liked ventures but ive been out for 8 years or so. I really miss my 3ft mini half pipe, that thing was a blast.

Hey, isnt this foxs thread???

Hmm... Should I just start a thread of posting pictures of other stuff I've stolen? That would make for a longer thread than this one.....

Literally...

I mean hell... I have a set of movie seats I walked out of the theater with during Phantom of the Opera.... (which I thought was a bit ironic)

And lets not even get started about the street signs....

Hrmm... maybe I'll just go bolt it up under a stop sign somewhere....

Yea, I'd like to pad the tops of the footholds but these damn standard mold footholds are so small... I tried a pair of tom21's footholds, and Now i'm jealous. They look big and awkward but they feel very natural. Ah well. I just placed a bid on some wrestling shoes so maybe I'll actually have some good riding shoes for once, and since they are real tight and slim I might have some room to put the neoprene on the top.

How do you think that chin pad came out?

I have asics wrestling shoes they're great. They are tight fitting, I havent lost a shoe since I bought those. They've lasted a season so far so thats better than normal. My biggest gripe is no padding in the tongue but I guess thats what foothold padding is for. I cant ride in skate shoes, I cant keep them on my feet. I hate having to stop riding to catch my shoes before they sink.

Considering your material, method of making, and total cost for that chin pad Id say it turned out great, lol. Turf on it would be good though, id hate to slap my chin on it.

Yea, its deffinately getting turfed tomorrow... I just dont think Im going to be adding some neoprene under it.

As for riding shoes I always buy the $11 velcro ones at wal mart on the way out to daytona. But I buy them in a size 8 or 9 instead of my usual 11 or 12. I like them a lot, but I just have wanted something with a thinner sole. The asics I bid on have absolutely NO padding in the tongue, just a strip of leather, I didnt even think of that. Sht.

You got the pimped out white ones. These are alot like the ones I got http://cgi.ebay.com/ASICS-JL404-ADU...emQQptZLH_DefaultDomain_0?hash=item1e5a6a3067.

I used to use some dumb water shoes from wally world kinda like these http://cgi.ebay.com/MENS-SAND-N-SUN...ewItemQQptZUS_Men_s_Shoes?hash=item51907e305d. These would last about a month, thats if I didnt blow them off with my pump and they sink, lol. The wrestling shoes last much longer and stay tight on your feet. I dunno if they make a padded tongue wrestling shoe though. About all of them ive seen are pretty thin.
