Sweet ski man... looks fantastic... when do you hit the water? Seeing a lot of BOB builds with the black white and red theme... my favorite... how about with Black Turf and Red Holds...

Thats a beautiful looking boat ... I'm hoping to Finnish it up and get it running and on the water this week ... Can you say burrrrrr.... Lol

So I finally got it all buttoned up ... After a few failure to launch moments .. 1. Having my power and starter wires switched .. (I know .. Idiot )... 2. Having the two white wires on my MSD enhancer switched causing me to only have spark when I hit the start button and when I let off .. No spark in between ... Both time having to rip the ebox back out from behind the motor ... It started right up and sounds great ... I got all my controls where I think they need to be and made sure my bars and nozzle where straight ... This was for sure a challenging build for me .. Being it was my first ever ... You really need to try to look as many steps ahead as you can to try and predict any problem with what your doing now will cause you 5 steps later ... I guess all I can do now is hope she floats and see what happens ...

I would deffintly like to thank everyone who has helped me along the way like Pat at patch motors ... Steve-uk... T-pain.. My buddy mat who's blue gen2 we just finished also .. And of coarse my wife Jennifer who has put up with my crap while building these things and who never batted an eye even when the money spent on this reached heights she never imagined ... I don't know if anyone knows this or not but these things are freaking expensive !!!!!!

Wow... Both skis look fantastic... post up how the first rides go.

First ride is where you find that one bolt you forgot to torque... ours was the hose clamp on the carb pulse line... ran for 10 minutes then quit. :)

Good luck and have fun !

Love it. Get's better every time i ride it. Ours needs more Thrust... we will add a set back mag pump and BB motor soon.

I know some guys have flipped one with a modded 701, but they had more talent than me. I'm getting almost 3/4 around and nosing in... Not enough to ride away from.

Flipping aside, there's a lot of fun you can have... Power subs... 180s, rolls, nose stabs.

Nice .... Good to hear .... Would love to do a setback and a BB but after what I spent on it so far it will be a while ... Really want to be able to ride it well with the 701 first any how then worry about more power

They both ran really well, mine a little rich fuel/oil wise but that was intentional. Air/fuel wise by reading the plug color it seemed spot on. To me, Jason's G3 seemed to turn a little sharper, and ride a little more loose but he installed the longer ride plate after I rode it and said it made a huge difference. Mine seemed to carve into turns and hook up, in fact it never felt like it lost hook up. I'm pretty impressed with how stable it was to be honest. I was nervous because I heard how bob's could just "pitch" you off, but it never felt like that to me.

Both of our Fuel Pods came unattached from the hulls. I lost a head pipe bolt. Had a failed backflip attempt that scared my wife but all in all I would say it was a successful day! Sorry to hijack your thread Jason.

Thanks mat ..... Yeah for the most part it was a good first outing... For sure the different length plates are night and day ... My G3 with the long plate feels very similar to the G2 with the short plate... The long plate tightens up the handling requires less rider input where the short plate loosens up the ski considerably but makes it more nimble and precise .. More rider input is required ... My long plate is a little too long and doesn't allow my wamiltons trim system to reset after engaging the trim so I need to clearance it a little so my trim works ... Try climing back into the pan when your trim is up .... Good luck... Lol .... My PATCH motors 701 ran awesome and is pretty much spot on tuning wise ... It's brand new top to bottom so I didn't beat on it too bad.. But it was very snappy and ran crisp and clean from off idle all the way through ... Thanks pat !!!!...

Mat was right when he said both our tank pods broke loose so they will have to be fixed before our next day on the water .. Also learned a hard lesson on checking the fuel before taking your buddy's ski for a test ride .... Damn that was a long swim pulling a ski... :) Mats first flip attempt for sure got his wife's attention ... I don't see it as a failure.. I see it as a completed 180 flip .... Good job mat !!
