One more thing I wanted to add, is we were that weight was not a factor, and since you guys ride in Lake Michigan, we were told to make the hulls beefy and bullet proof. Weight didnt matter, just make them strong, and thats what we did.

Also, we've been retooling all of our equipment, including new moulds. We made new moulds for our Gen2s, because over time, the fit and finish of each hull slightly deteriorates as the moulds get used. After 60 units, we decided it was over due, and new moulds help with the standard fit & finish of each unit. You guys got the last ones from our old moulds, but in all honesty, I thought they still looked amazing.

Your are correct we only specified that we were concerned about strength not weight. I'm happy knowing I have a bulletproof hull:)

And yea event though there were some blemishes in the hull I still love it and think it looks good!

Like I stated before, I would do it over again in a heartbeat. And who knows what I'll do after the Gen 3 is out......:)

At $4,000, our clients are purchasing a VERY inexpensive hull, and one that functions the way its supposed to. We don't sell show-room hulls, we sell affordable products that work the way they should.

What ever happened to Function over Fashion? I thought the point of Freestyle was to do Backflips and Barrel Rolls, not brag about whos ski is prettier (I thought only racers did that?)

I havnt bought a BOB from the ski clinic so Im just replying to these posts... so its just my opinion and just take it for what its worth
You are selling an aftermarket hull for $4000 when other companies are selling for almost double, plus the name of your hull even uses the word "budget" so people should understand if they are spending half the money they cant expect the same top notch product that other companies can afford to put extra effort into with the higher price. I understand that completely but at the same time I do think even if there are minor cosmetic flaws and fit/finish issues the pump inserts should really line up. It does prove that the customer service is top notch since you helped out Tpain with his issue and also fixed your jig and made new molds.

I definitely agree with this and I dont really care how flashy my skis are but at the same time a lot of people do. For someone who advertises and sells custom graphics to the jetski community, I feel that your graphics on the BOB should be your strong point (again I havnt bought one so Im just going by these posts and not personal experience) and they shouldnt "blow off in a couple rides". The BOB hulls are very asthetically appealing and I would hope that the graphics would last a long time if I spent the money on the hull. I do think you guys put out a great product and the price is very competitive as well so there needs to be some understanding of this from people especially considering other aftermarket hulls dont even come finished with graphics.

I agree that we were were goin into these hulls with the mindset of saving money and building a backflip and freestyle ski. Again I am now 100 percent happy with my hull and will definitely do business with the Ski Clinic again!

I was just making a general statement about the BOB hulls in general. That was not intended toward you... just so you know

Not taken personally at all:) I'm just happy more people are being informed about aftermarket hulls in general. It just helps with the progression of our sport!:)

After the first ride on my bob I put it in my enclosed trailer. The next day I pulled it out and noticed the graphics were starting to come of so I just went over all of them pressing down and since then haven't had a single problem. Still look as good as when I first pulled it out of the crate

We were also riding in 36 degree water which isn't friendly on adhesives either.

TPAIN what motor are you running? (specifically in the video)
Good to see BOB backs their product and has good customer service , and also that they want to progress the sport with newer hulls and more options for riders

Thanks

I'm running a Powerhouse Performance 760 with a b pipe, Powerhouse modded waterbox, msd enhancer, Powerhouse lightened flywheel, dual 44's, carbontech reeds with stuffers. I'm running 205 compression and the ski can flip off a small surf wave(as you saw in the video) with my 235 lbs ass on it !:biggthumpup

you must not be using the proper materials for the mold, the tooling gelcoat and resin is important ,we have 100 plus parts made off our molds and the parts along with mold still look new

I personally haven't had any problems with dk1 designs graphics. My buddy got a bob last summer and used it all summer and the graphics are still good on it, and I got some graphics for my sxr at the start of the summer and they are still holding up good. Just adding my personal experience with the graphics!

ps nice bob, I'm waiting on mine to be built right now, running a 760 as well, for this year anyways ;)

Our moulds are ALWAYS being used. Once one hull is popped, we pretty much put gel right back in the moulds to start the next unit. Just producing all the time.

Thanks! I do think it turned out really sharp! I still have managed to keep my Bob graphics on so how you see mine is how it came. Lil D does make some sweet graphics:)

I hope this thread hasn't turned anyone away from buying a Bob...... we just had another friend check out our hulls and his will be ordered within a week! Like I said, seeing in person definitely helps you understand what your really gettin into......... and I know I will be an ongoing customer with The Ski Clinic because of their products and customer service.

In my opinion its a fun ski to ride. You dont need alot of power or money. The price is also hard to beat. I have built 3 in the last year and everyone comes out better and better. We build all kinds of skies and have pretty much done every After Market hull. My first BoB Gen 1 was flipped off of a 2ft boat wave with a Stock 61x motor, Ada head, Factory pipe, NO TRIM. Also dealing with Derick is Awesome. Always did the right thing by me. Im sure if you gave him $1500.00 more on top of the 4000 you can have a bettter finish. Just my opinion. You can Spend $8000.00 on my Superfreek and still do all the same work. It is what it is. Sorry
My Gen 2 was made even better. You have to admit they are fun to ride.

I agree with you 100%! I absolutely love the way this hull rides, rolls, and flips with just my Powerhouse 760!

Hopefully the new beast motor that Powerhouse is workin on will be in my hull come this summer:)

Hey Tpain your pole look damn short, how tall are you ??

I can't help it that's what I was given at birth..........oh your talking about my SKI pole Lmfao!!!

Ok seriously now, I'm 6' and weigh 235lbs. I had cut two inches off the stock length tubes to start with and set them at maxed out as short as I could. Then after about 5 rides I decided to cut 2 more off making the tubes -4 and then slammed the pole as short as possible. The ride now feels more balanced for me and makes barrel rolls and backflips rotate much smoother.
