For doing quick turns put both feet back in the tray and turn more with the handle bars and less with a lean. When your going fast I will lean a little and turn my bars slightly to turn. I will usually ride on one foot forward and one foot back.

For freestyle both feet back in the tray and turn mostly with your bars. The ski will turn much "flatter" and it will be easier to jump with your feet in the rear of the tray.

Buuut, Ive never ridden a 08+ SJ.... so it might be completely different. Congrats, nice ski

Thx guys for the replies, i'll take a look at those bars once i get home from work. It's too early and i'm almost late for work lol. Also thx for the riding tips, i haven't tried both feet in back of the tray "always had one foot in front of the other". I was watching a bunch of freestyle vids last night, and some guys make it look sooooo easy.

quick question, how come whenever i'm riding up to the shore "ready to get off", the motor turns off by itself? How does the machine know that's what i was about to do? lol. It idles good when i start it, so i'm not sure what's causing this to happen...

Also, how am i suppose to let it idle on initial startup to warm up? It wants to slowly take off. I'd end up just letting it drag me around for a bit, then i would go. But, if i touch the throttle too early, it bogs, then dies.

u just gotta hold it in place when its warmen up. can be a pain in the ass unless u have it up against a dock. as for it jus shuttin off, are u running it up onto the shore with it still runnen? cuz that would cause it to bog down an die. not good for the ski

no dock, it's a public launch. next time, i'm gonna try and stand in front of it, and let it idle up against me, maybe that'll work. as for driving on shore, nah, that's not what i'm doing. The first few times, i would turn it off around 15 feet from shore. But the last couple times, it would turn off itself, just before i'd be ready to press the off button "kinda like it knows that i'm about to turn it off". Can it be because i was going full throttle to an idle? Was doing this in the middle of the lake also but it wouldn't turn off, maybe cause i got back on the throttle, and when i'm going towards shore, i let off the throttle and coast to shore, that's when it dies.

turn the idle up a lil bit an try it again an see if it shuts off. i jus sold a large A-10 vest for 20 bucks like a month ago to some1 on here. real nice vest, i just out grew it. ima check one of them heliums out cuz i want somethin thats coastguard approved which the a-10s not. i dont like the looks of the newer jet pilot coast guard approved vests

i'm not a big fan of the design on the helium swat vest. i also don't like the looks of the newer jet pilot vests, i like the 09 version"i think". If i had to buy the newer design, i'd go with the black, or maybe the white, but i can't since i'm in canada :( All the vests that i've seen in stores over here are lame and cheap.

hey guys, quick question. What sort of maintenance should i be doing on my superjet? i tried a search, but only seem to find "winter storage" threads.
Been taking it out lots lately, and I'm getting the hang of it. I can't seem to do really sharp turns though, i'm thinking i need some mods to be able to turn sharper "fishtail". Or maybe i'm just not shifting my weight properly.

do you ride fresh or salt? if i ride fresh water i just dry out the bilge and give it a few revs on the trailer to clear some water out of the exhaust. if i ride salt i back flush the motor, rinse everything off (motor, pump, hull. everything) and hit the engine and pump (intake grate, reduction nozzle, rideplate) with wd-40.

what kind of sharp turn are you trying to do? like a 180 or buoy course. i unhook the pump and pivot on the nose if i want to turn around. if your trying to take a fast sharp turn you need to stay hooked up by keeping the ski flat. if you put weight on the inside you will unhook the pump and vise versa

Thx a bunch for the reply. I ride in fresh water. I seen a few guys give their sea doos a few revs on the trailer, i was wondering what they were doing. I'll do that from now on. As for what kind of turn i'm talking about, the 180 that guys do to hit their setup wave. I can turn sharp around buoys. Maybe i can't do the 180 cause i'm leaning into the corners and unhooking the pump. i also tried to stand way back, keep her flat, turn the bars, punch the gas, let go, then get back on the throttle, but that wouldn't work for me. What exactly does v-cutting the plate do?

the best advise anyone can give you is to go out and experiment with your feet placement and where you put your weight while turning. leaning forward, rearward, inward or outward all has different effects on how the ski responds in a corner.

ya i know, i'll keep at er, i was just thinking that maybe it ain't possible till u do some sort of mod. Was just wondering if it's doable on a stock jetski. I'm sure it is, i'll just have to keep trying.

Been doing a lot of riding lately, and I'm getting petty good at riding now :). I have a couple questions. Is it normal for the jetski to smoke a lil? I don't notice it while riding, but during warm up and after I'm done riding, I notice smoke coming out the exhaust. Can it be my mixing ratio? I was told 50:1, so I'm adding 250ml of oil to 12.5L of fuel. I also heard that I should let the motor run for 30 secs on the trailer before and after I ride, is this true?

I met up with a guy in town that owns an sxr, and that thing turns on a dime. Everytime I'd try to do a quick 180 turn, it would feel like I can easily turn sub it. Is that cause the ride plate? Or is it the hull. He told me that he didn't have a quick steering mod on it. I'd like to get my ski to turn like that. I'm also liking his footholds, I'll have to get some soon "probably install em during winter". I'm gonna do some more research on parts, but for now, I order 0 degree bars and grips.

Stuff that i've installed so far are:
-Blowsion 0 degree bars
-ODI TLD Lock-on grips
-Blowsion spring
-Worx 228 intake grate
-2x Rule bilge
-2x 45 degree bilge fittings
-Blowsion dual bilge bracket
-OCD Solutions dual bilge harness
-Rotary bilge switch
-bilge hose

Stuff about to install:
-Rickter footholds "wamiltons"
-Two tone "Blue/White" hydro turf

Future purchases:
-Everything else possible :) lol. I can see myself buying a rickter xfs carbon hull in the next year or so. I'll be using most stuff from the superjet at first, then save up for a 1000cc+ engine :)

Standups are sooooo much fun, i have it figured out pretty good now. I'll post some pics once my buddy puts them onto his computer and sends me them. This site was right, HUGE ADDICTION.

hey guys, i have a quick question, and i doubt i'll get an answer since this isn't a medical clinic, but i was wondering if anyone else went thru this. When i first bought the machine and started doing research, i was told to never let go whenever i fall. But now it feels like i pulled something in both shoulders. When i move my arms a certain way, there's a lot of pain. Anyone go thru this before?
