Congrats on the new ski but be very careful with your new addiction. Don't let a buddy leave his ski in the garage with yours overnight. Ski's breed like rabbits and you're garage ends up looking with this...

yep .. same here ,, 2 SN sjs in teh garaga beside my SXR .. a blaster and a x2 in teh side yard just behind that a 440 ,, and another 440to 650 conversion ski in teh basement .. not to mention the jetmate at the cottage ( ok not a jetski but same powertrain and damn fun !)

Looks like the cast RRP poles are back ordered for a few weeks. Mike from optima racing is giving me a good deal on the billet setup :) Can't wait to get it. Can someone confirm that i should be ok with the 08+ cable, Mike told me that i'll be fine. I read in a bunch of threads of people not being able to use the 08+ cable. My steering setup will be RRP poles with Kommand billet steering system w/turnplate. I'd like to make sure i have everything ready to install once the poles get here.
Thx

Hey guys, I'm finally ready to put the ski on the lake, but I figured I'd try and start it first to see how it runs. I spoke with wamiltons and he said that I should start at one full turn on the high and low. I understand that the low speed affects the idle but should I only need to touch the idle screw at first to get it to idle properly even though the low might be off? Then once I start doing a few low speed runs, adjust the low?

Well I tried starting it and it didn't seem to wanna stay running, so I played with the idle screw a bit and she purs like a kitten :). I believe I'm ready to put it on the lake and see how she runs. Pretty windy outside so I'm gonna wait till tomorrow since it'll be easier to tune on a calmer day, I'm loving' the sound of the b pipe :). Still haven't installed the pole yet since I'm waiting for the steering stopper, should have it early next week.

Just went for a ride, and it seems to be running good. Way more power than before. I think it still needs a lil tweaking though, it sometimes loads up on the low end.

What do you mean by tweaking , what do you do ?

By tweaking, i mean play around with the low speed needle a bit. I was gonna go for another ride today, but i was stuck at the clinic for 2 hours and then it started to pour, i usually still ride in the rain, but i didn't think it would be much fun adjusting things in the rain.

Thanks man, i'll definitely look into that. Need more riders to ride with, i only know three other standup riders where i live.

Tomorrow i'll be going to the paint shop to see if they can paint my wamiltons hood, i went there last week but they were too busy. I'm also hoping to have the steering stopper this week so that i can install the RRP pole. Hopefully i can have things ready by the 9th.

Just brought the hood in to get painted. I brought my stock hood in also so they can try matching it, but all they have is metallic samples :( Looks like i might have to bring it somewhere else to get the color scanned, but i heard that usually doesn't work well. Has anyone ever scanned with good results?

Oh, and is the RRP really +1 compared to the stock pole when the poles are all the way in? I figured it was gonna be shorter but by the time i mounted the bars, they actually look longer than stock.

i was planning on using the stock chin pad for now until i go back to work, then i'll most likely buy the RRP pad, but i had some issues installing the stock pad, the stock bolts are way too short. I had a cpl spare longer bolts that came with the pole, but those also seem short. Looks like i'll need some 3" bolts or something to make it work, i'm just hoping that doesn't weekend the chin pad.
