It's so much stronger than a SJ that I'm not worried about riding it hard one bit. Bobby used Black Tooling Gel instead of regular gelcote so the finish is ultra durable and polishable.[/QUOTE]

Yeah, I wouldn't worry about breaking anything that Bobby makes! I have one of his ride plates for the SXR and it has been log jump tested and approved =] I'm not familiar with the black tooling gel but that's a huge plus when dealing with black or any dark color with a shine like that.

Got it running today, going to do turf on Sunday. The black engine looks good but it sure is hard to photograph.

Nice. The white tank just doesn't fit in. You need a black jazz, but the pickup is awesome on that tank. Who makes it?

Thanks guys, I've got 13 hrs into the assembly at this point. I had a couple snags but thanks to all the years of surfing this site I absorbed enough info to overcome everything without too much issue. Hopefully turf goes well tommorrow.

The black straight bars are MIA so I'll wait until I find a black turnplate before I swap them out. I'm also going to need a throttle drum to take up the extra length of the Kawi Cable.

I was planning to start out with the Advent Ignition but unlike the model in my Seadoo, it didn't have a brown wire for charging so I installed the MSD Enhancer. I run the Deka ETX-9 batteries and won't try out the Advent till I get a couple spare batteries for swapping.

I tested painting the original tank but I couldn't get anything to stick to it well enough and it was hard to get it even enough to look good. The fill unit is made by Wamiltons.

I've seen spray paint for plastic at home depot. I wonder how that would do. Please don't ruin that pretty new tank to find out. The ski is awesome.
