Come and do my turf, please. Looks awesome, man!

It looks good now but there's lots of little mistakes, mostly with how to trim the edges so it lays in with nice sharf edges. Turf is an art all in itself and I bow down to those of you are great at it.

One cool thing I did discover was that the free USPS Priority Mail envelopes are awesome for making templates. Slit them down the sides to open them up and the peel and stick flap makes it easy to join them together.

I applied 2 layers of contact cement to the hull side and 3 layers to the turf/underpad and it stuck awesome, I don't forsee this turf coming off anytime soon.

I had originally planned to turf the rails but after holding a couple sample pieces up, I just couldn't do it. Maybe once they get beat up a bit or I come in contact with them a time or two but for now I'm going ot run them bare.

use some superglue at the seams, that will help them from coming loose. You can also use some Black RTV at the edges of the turf where it meets the hull. This will deflect the water.

Looks awesome. Tell me about what you did for the front foothold. What's going on there? Is there a fire extinguisher in there?

It's a SN fire extinguisher cannister wrapped in turf. I did it up for my SJ with the WDK Diablo hood and just transfered it over. It fits much better in the Matrix and I have to wiggle my foot a bit to get under it.

Boyer...I'm for sure no turf expert. Mcdog does a real nice job with his and seems to have few to no seams. On a side note though, I spliced two diff color turfs together a few years back on my SN and used RTV to nail the edges together and used a "flap sander" bit on my dremel to smooth out the cut-edges that mated two different diamonds. The flap sander helped make the transition areas real smooth and not have any leading edges that could get pulled up with use.

feels nice to put SN parts on your miljondollar ski?

Around 2 years ago my favourite ski was my 92 SN. Oh how far I've come in such a short time. lol

The SN cannister is my way of paying tribute to where I started.

I just copied how my 07 was done figured if it was going to be wrong, they would at least match. The real problem is that the tray needs to go one direction for traction and the sides another for looks and fit. It's funny how looks wins every time.

My 07 hasn't been a problem. Josh's black and white ski was the right way and I couldn't stay on that thing to save my life, #1 reason to not haul your fuel in the tray right there.

I wanted to hit the spot this saturday but i think we may hit hugo instead to be home in time for a B-day party sat night. Maybe hit the spot the weekend after?
