CANADA FREERIDE EVENT!

D-Roc

I forgot!
Well just had the dirty river ride in Dunnville and I am always willing to host another ride but it would be cool to change it up. Ipperwash has camping and do does say sauble beach. I have not looked into campsites but I have been camping and riding in both places. I am down to make a trip as long as it's within a four hour drive. And a nice spot.

Iv been kinda sitting back and not saying to much as i am busy most weekends, I don't want to make the decision any more confusing if i can't even make it. HOWEVER what is the exact date??? Iv seen June and July?? Also if people vote on a spot in the peterborough area i don't mind giving my opinion on the campground and riding are. I could also do some of the leg work (As i live here: cheap mans cottage country) such as spotting a good area, or finding a launch.

Like i said i don't want to make a vote on the date or location, as i can't promise i can even make it. Once you guys make a decision, ill try and fit it in my summer.

If I had to choose, here is my vote...

1 - Peterborough or east side of Lake Simcoe (it's the most central and would likely generate the best turnout)
2 - Dunville or Ipperwash (DRR is always a good time, Droc is a great host and Ipperwash looks like a cool spot)
3 - Wasaga Beach or Alcona (Wasaga is a great spot. I was just hoping to go somewhere new but, I'm cool to stay local)
4 - Brockville/1000 island

I am not familiar with any of these ride spots other than Dunville and Wasaga. I am just basing my preference on geographical location and what I've researched on the areas so far.

In all honesty, I'd be pumped to ride in any of these places. I'm just excited to get together with other people that share the same interests. Let's make a decision and get this thing rolling!

Oh... and I vote July 25, 26 weekend.

Im confused, is this page the freeride where we just talk about riding? lol kidding guys you just have to start a ride and it will be small at first for whoever can make it but then turn into the field of dreams, if you build it they will come. There will be stories to tell for years

Seeing nobody wants to make a call, I propose doing the ride in Wasaga this year, and maybe plan somewhere else next year when we have more time to plan it. Wasaga offers the river for flatwater, lots of boat traffic, and the bay can get pretty rough... something for everyone. It's a public place, the cops don't generally bother us, and the people in the area don't get upset. It's central-ish (below a 4h drive for almost everyone). It's close enough for most who can only make it out for the day.

I would be willing to call around to the local campsites and post information for those who want to stay over night.

Just my 2 cents...
