Progress has been slow. I can't believe summer is over. This thing needs soo much work but I'm determined to keep at it. I have it all ground down and all the junk stripped out now I'm working on foothold location and all the tray plumbing. I need to machine up some inserts for everything. I have been so busy with work, but on the bright side I can carve out some time to get other projects done like a little flywheel lightening

image.jpg image.jpg image.jpg image.jpgSome more progress. Finally gettjng some of the structure back together. Some mild nose rocker, I have the old engine mounts all cut out because they were rotten. I will make a jig from my square hull to put the new mounts in once I get them machined. I told myself I wouldn't do anything just for the look, but I had to cut those weird looking sponsons off the rails, they looked soo silly in my eyes with no purpose so they had to go. Have the rear end glassed back up, still lots of work but I am really pumped with the way it's starting to look. It's gonna be light compared to my square.

Thanks! It's going slower then I like but thats what happens when you have projects on top of projects plus other projects. I am pumped to see how yours turns out as well!

Now that you have yours all ground down, can you tell what is going on with the pole bracket area? It looks to me like there is a separate piece glassed into the topdeck to act as a pole bracket "bucket". I have a little concern that this could have some of the same structural issues as the rest of the hull.

I think you are right that they glassed in a pole Bucket after moulding process, the black you see on the front appears to be some sort of thickend epoxie to smooth everything out. That being said this hull has probably been to hell and back and there's only a few stress cracks around the bracket area and it appears to me to actually be the strongest part of this hull. It is really thick everywhere there, but from what everyone says Jeff did every hull different.

Been making a bunch of progress on this dirty old thing. Should be ready for spring. Motors mounts all glassed in. Tray plumbing all done and foamed and tray is rebuilt. Still some more glass work to do on the foot holds and a whole bunch more sanding I'm not looking forward to before it's ready for paint. So far this hull has been a monumental task. I must have at least 40-50 hours into now. Half is probably sanding and grinding. I have been lucky so far with materials. I had a huge roll of mat donated by a buddy. I will never use it all. I also got a really good deal on the huge jug of west systems from a guy who had most of one left over from a boat repair. In all I think I'll put just under a 1000 in materials with brushes and different matts and expoxies and thickeners I have had to buy plus the purchase price of the hull was 400 so for under 1500 I should have a good upgrade from my square hull.

image.jpg image.jpeg image.jpegFinally got some paint on this greasy old thing, it's no sports car straight but after my sander died I told myself I'd be happy with how ever it came out.... I guess. Assembly this week and hopefully testing this Sunday

it did come out alot more pointed then I thought, but hopefully it works out after I get some under padding on there and they are not to high for my arms to get to the bars.

I have ridden a ski with similar gunwales, you would be surprised how many times you bang your arm, thigh and asscheek on it.
