Freestyle Carbon Gen 1 BOB W/ XS1000

Would you take something out on the street you just spent a lot of money on and not have any insurance?

He has quite a few bucks into this ski.

Bilge pump is just good insurance. I'd say keep it!

I actually have insurance on my skis. I'm on my 4th A/M and have not had water intrusion be an issue on any of them.My BOB did'nt have one.My Bullet did'nt have one. My Tinity Evo Pro was originally set up with dual bilge pumps and Daniel removed them, I reinstalled a pair. After running it for awhile (flat and surf) and realizing they were not needed they were in the gutter. My ROK doesnt have one. Depends on the quality of the hull I suppose. If ya don't need it why have it. Put 12 in there if ya want IDC, just don't need them. OP, ya don't need it if your boat is solid, 20 pumps aint gonna help if you have a crack or a hole in it. About the only thing I liked about my BOB was that it did not take on water. Youre good to go without it IMO for what it's worth.

you are the reason
versi plugs leak, all hulls take on water!!!!!! good call on a bilge. Not really needed if your always moving but sometimes you eat it and the wave takes her away puts a little water in the carb and youll be glad you had a bilge. Just saying The build is sweet way to go joe. by the way nice front footholds and whos making your rideplate? pumped for v.b. to scratch this baby up. back flipping off ripples

Pretty productive week. Got one final out of the way, a project, and studied for a few others. only 1.5 weeks of school left then straight to Virginia beach!!
Shawn and I finished the final touches on the ski this evening. He will post some pics tomorrow when it gets dusted off and in the sunlight. He did an awesome job on the turf (Clay thank you as well). Shawn's been killing it the past couple of weeks helping to get everything done in time for wavedaze. we will be testing the skis this coming thursday regardless of the weather. I cant wait to try this thing out!

On another note, Tayler (my girlfriend) and I picked up her first ski this week in lansing after it's long trip from Tennessee. (courtesy of Charlie and Chris)

Charlie gave us a great deal on the complete hull minus motor and electronics. Tayler is excited to ride with us and had no problem putting up the cash for the hull. I have a fresh 82mm bore, ported 61x/61x with single 46, and type 4 dry pipe going in after wavedaze.
It's finally time she has her own ski and I am super pumped! It is going to be a great season...once it warms up!

I'm diggin the stabbin cabin!

I believe you are referring to the love van? haha
1983 E150 Stretch. 67,000 original miles. My grandpa has owned it since new.
The Love van will be on display at WaveDaze.

Here's a few pics of it while i was cleaning it up and getting it ready for the virginia trip.
Yes, it has a CB radio, Dice hanging from the mirror, and the two rear benches open up into a bed.

It is a blast to drive around. people love the interior ha.

I know it is just a Gen 1 bob, but not gonna lie...I'm pretty freaking happy with how the ski turned out!!!
Shawn did an awesome job with the turf and after a little black silicone it'll be perfect!
He is also putting the finishing touches on the Bob ride plates.
We'll be riding thursday. I hope everything goes well...
Thanks for everyones help and insight on the build!!

haha thanks. i expect it to want to ride nose high all the time and be a complete handful. I know it'll take a while to get used to it. the gen 1 hulls are nothing special, but i have a blast on them. they are fun to throw around and for where i ride, should be a riot. For what I have into the build , im definitely happy with how it looks. Now to see how fun it is.

Caught a break in the weather yesterday and tested the skis. After a little fine tuning got it ripping, just in time to break the steering nozzle.... Bottom bolt backed out, and the thrust snapped it at the top flange. That nozzle is getting welded, have another one for wave daze. I would love some help fine tuning by some veterans down in Virginia.
