Other Carbon RCW Brawler Kit Build x2

I'm going with a rear cold fusion battery box. Does that allow for more fuel? I didn't see exactly where you had the battery box

If you boys are running pfp the battery should be bulkhead mounted. Recessed above the scupper. Vince its not too late for yours!

Yea that bracket might but I may be able to do some loops for velcro straps. What battery are you going to run? Thats an etx 9

Anyone have a few dimensions on the Chan? From the bottom of the hull directly under the hood lip to the bottom of the hood lip and the inside width of the keel should be enough to tell if it is going to fit or not. Maybe a dimension from the front of the motor (head height) to the inside of the front lip.

I mocked up the tank using my flat patterns earlier tonight and the tank was damn close. Made a few minor design changes and I will mock up the final version tomorrow night. Hopefully I'll have a quote from the laser cutter/bender tomorrow.

Limitedslip7 finished up the design tonight. Total fuel capacity of 5.03 gallons. Works with pfp and the b pipe. Fits perfectly in the brawler and we're hoping it will fit in any aftermarket hull. figured I'd post some pics

That's a huge tank looking at that thing out of a hull I'd say ur nuts for thinking that's going to fit

Is it easy enough to remove the battery box area and add more fuel capacity? I would prefer mine that way

I should be able to, but it may cost just a bit more. The prices more than double if I get a single piece made vs 5+ but since the shapes are close and they will be able to use the same press brake setup they may not charge me that much extra.

I got a rough quote from the laser cutter today and it looks like I should be able to make them for $260 if I make at least 5 tanks. However, this would just be for the raw tank and the brass fittings. The 6 bolt fuel cell cap assemblies are $50-70 from Summit or Jegs (depending on brand/design) and powdercoating will likely cost me $30-40 per tank from Houser Racing. They have about 20 different colors to choose from. I will be using 0.125" thick 5052 aluminum sheet though, which is one of the most corrosion resistant aluminum alloys so it may not really need it. I know its more expensive than H20 designs or Thrust, but I'm limited on how much of the work I can do myself since my employer banned government jobs (Bastards!).

-This tank has a 5 degree angle on the bottom, resulting in a rise of ~1" from back to front to fit short hulls with a lot of rocker
-Will fit hulls with low hood lips - After looking at pictures of the Chans, it looks like this tank will fit just fine
-Will fit with either B-pipes or PFPs
-Battery tray will fit a Deka ETX-9 or smaller battery (or I can omit the battery tray to bring the fuel capacity up to 5.2 gallons)

Let me know if anyone is interested... I will probably place my lasercut order early next week and will only make these once.

its tough to tell from picts but what it the clearance from ft of motor to tank? Those motors can go forward quite a bit on nose impacts. lol I know you may have keepers but jaut making sure you thought about it before cutting plates

1/2"-1" from the front cover to the tank depending on how you position it fore/aft in the hull; more than that up by the battery tray.
