I've had two scopes on the right (Meniscus/Partial ACL and Lateral Release) and one on the left (ACL/MCL). The ACL/MCL and Lateral release were pieces of cake. Had surgery on Wednesday both times and was walking without crutches by Monday.

THERAPY, THERAPY, THERAPY like BK said.

Hey Matt, how'd ya like the "tests" the doc did on it? :bump:

Before my 2nd Surgery, when my knee started acting up, I was talking to my Godfather (Also family Doc), telling him about my knee locking up and giving out, knowing my history he said "let me schedule you for an MRI", got that done, He called me and told me that I had scar tissue buildup and a new tear. My original Ortho had retired so he told me who to go see. I set up the appointment. Went to see him. He put me on an anti-inflamitory (Relifin) and told me to come back in 2 weeks. Right at the 2 week mark I started getting bad indigestion. Ended up going to the ER in the middle of the night. The Relifin had eaten my stomach lining (Yes, I ate before I took the pills even though he said you did not have to). Also, his office had called a few days before and cancelled my appointment, think it was the day before the indigestion started. The following week when I went back after he returned from out of town he asked how everything went. Told him about the hospital stay..... "OOPS"..... Then he proceeds to ask my how my knee is, "still locking up Doc"........ "Well, I guess we need to schedule and MRI......"

My Jaw dropped, Uh, already did that before I came to see you, it in the file. He walks out, comes back in and and says "It must have gotten misplaced, Well, we need to operate, how does Wed sound to you?"

arggggggggg

Had my left medial meniscus scoped four or five years ago, the therapist was hot, but the knee still does not bend all the way.
The right medial meniscus surgery is on hold since high school, I just cope with it, the tear is not as bad as it was on the left.

did you do the follow up therapy after you were released from Therapy?
Mostly mountain biking around the neighborhood, that's about it...
I also spent 2 months on disability, lost about 10 lbs of muscle weight, and gained about 20 lbs of fat in the course of the next few months.

my buddy chad tore his ACL..hes bummed bigtime :crutches:

That must of been him that came in when I was going out. Layed on the beach in some pain. Said he had done it to his other leg in the past and knew what it felt like. The paramedics came over to check him out.

I hope he is ok.

Cracked pole, chin pad, nose, bent bars (not much), broken motor mount. That's it for the ski.
Left knee somewhat larger than the right but the right one clicks louder. Walking down stairs is an adventure.

Had an awesome time.

except egos while doing front flips trying to beach our skis. Me and probably 1/2 the people there did it. I saw one guy end up t-boned on the nads by his pole---he just laid there for a few, then got off and I thought he was going to puke.

I didn't see anyone do this on Saturday but Sunday I watched one after the other do it all day long. I even did once on Sunday when the waves weren't cooperating but I was squatted down real low and just got whip lash when my chest hit the pole pad.

what a crazy week but well worth it. i would say over 75 percent of the damage came from getting it of the rail and out of the ditch. if that guard rail wasnt there we would have never even got a scratch. its my dads truck and i hated the paint job anyway. i also had three broken motor mounts in the ski.
