Sorry Hornedog that Keith didnt get the Freak off the Trlr, but maybe it saved ya some $ LOL, if ya rode it ya woulda laid down some $ to Tem. I have no Idea why he didnt pull it out on the beach.

Big thanks to sjetrider for letting me take a spin on a ROK hull in the surf. It was a nice riding hull and very flickable, nimble but it would take some time getting use to a minus 8 hull; plus I ride surf stance and did not have a front foot hold/strap for a fair assessment test of it's handling/feel. Also a thanks to Chasingdaylight for the FX1 test ride and my first time on a FX. I thought the ski was also flickable, nimble and stable for a narrower hull (minus 2) I'm told.

well , here's my take on all the hulls I rode:

-xscream KDX - didn't get to ride
-Arial 8 felt like a lightweight shortened SXR with 3 feet of hull missing in the front
-the ROK felt like a lightweight shortnened SXR
-The SF felt like a lightened shorter SJ with a super wide tray
-The BOB hull felt like a 300sx
-the Vision felt like just like the best hull in the world...of course!

Sucks I didn't make it to flat water friday. I'm looking to buy my first A/M hull but just can't make myself throw the $ down without riding something first. I carried a wallet stuffed with cash and a blank check around all weekend with plans of bringing an a/m hull home. Maybe I'm doing something wrong but I couldn't get a ride on any of them. Maybe I should've attached the cash to my forehead. Vision looks awesome but wasn't coming off the stand. Tem's demo freak was broken by the time I tracked him down. I didn't see a Kong. I've been to 4 east coast events in the past year and still haven't seen a BOB2. I finally got to ride two carbon ROKs thanks to sjetrider. Which doesn't really do me any good because they're not available for purchase. Oh, go ahead and add me to the list of people who feel like a dumbass for not buying the black one when he had it for sale.

Sorry hornedogg99 you didn't get to ride the Vision on flatwater Friday .On Saturday, I just didn't feel comfortable with the ski being in big surf with MSD TL in the open.
If you are ever in this area, look me up for a ride! :)

no worries! When I finally do buy a nice hull.. I'm sure I will have my reservations about letting a complete stranger ride it in 6 inches of water. One of my riding buddies brought a freak home. Maybe he'll let me try it out before he sticks it in a glass case in his living room.

No problem Steve I completely understand. Thank you for taking the time to talk to me about your hull. I think you've set the standard for a/m hull fit n finish. Do I need a passport to come to Miami?

Thats what happens when ya dont show to represent BRO!!!!!! LOL, Shoulda paid someone to whore there GEN 2 out, the GEN 1 that was there was not impressive! I did hear ALOT of BUZZ about, where is BOB.. Just sayin!
Freeridings not our thing, I could never get into riding in the surf, done it a few times.. ehh. I enjoy flat water a lot more, but we didn't wanna drive across country to test ride my comp ski for a day, then come back.

HMMM, Need to rephrase that to keep from offending! I was not partivcularly impressed by the visula aspects of the GEN1 BOB that I saw in Daytona. ME, PERSONALLY!!! NOT at alll speaking for the masses.
BTW, While I hang with peeps with 20K and then some in there skis, I do not have near that in both of mine combined. I simply do ALL the work myself and buy , sell and trade to eventually get the fine pieces of equipment I currently posses. I will upgrade in time but only when its fesible and practical.

Just sayin!

Hey horndogg, you can ride mine when I get it completed. It will be the only A/M hull on the whole lake!

well that may be true. you guys are awesome people to deal with. here's the problem with what you are saying. apparently eme, xmetal, superfreak, watercraft factory, rickter, and trinity all showed up. if it were me i would asked a couple local clients, flown out and did some representing. here is something else that i've noticed.. people with bobs are selling their hulls for superfreaks. actually a lot of people are selling their a/m hulls for superfreaks. it wouldn't of been anything to fly in and represent. instead it looks like you are "afraid" of the competition. this is just my personal opinion of course.

I nominate this for the most short-sighted post of the year!

you'd have been better off to say

"we have loved to come, but we didnt want to get behind on hull production"

or

"we wanted to be there but family stuff got in the way"

by dismissing freeriding, you are dismissing a HUGE customer base

Where are all these Bob hulls for sale that you speak of? Currently on the first page of the whole skis for sale there are Superfreaks, Rickters, eme's, and zero BOBs

WTF? That BOB looks awesome. I think it is the best looking BOB out there. Whoever picked out the color scheme has incredible taste.

From what I know that BOB has a Gen 2 bottom deck and Gen 1.5 topdeck. I think more people would have tried it if they knew that.

The Ski Clinic should have been there IMO. Everyone else was but X-Scream probably tied them with the same number of potential customers riding their hulls. Just like last year it was only a select few who got to ride. Everyone else left their skis in the water most of the time for people to try but the KDX's were pulled from the water immediately after each ride.

That being said I can understand not wanting to make the trip from California and I can understand not wanting just anyone to ride your fancy expensive skis. I bet it still cost both companies a few sales, though.

Seeing they are pumping out Gen 2's as fast as they can & are still 3+ months out on them and have pre-orders for the Gen 3 already I'd say business is doing OK.
