Another reason. Not to many guys riding 550s and 650s etc here. Not sure why, but the douchebags always seem to ride those. Maybe because they're like trailer trash skis. Sorry if I offend anyone, but half the people I've seen with 550s are trailer trash.

That's actually a good point and I hadn't considered it. Lots of irresponsible youngens can afford those machines, and with irresponsibility comes bad ethics in some cases. (Probably true for the latest DB seller occurrence on PWCToday)
This forum community is more geared towards higher end machines that cost more. As a result, people are further along in life and career and probably a lot more responsible and ethical.
Perhaps "mature" is the word here.

...chaos? Its Fair!
Do we (youngens) have that rep? Or did someone before us screw it all up? I know me and sniv are trying to learn as much as we can and what not but are we deemed immature and that we have bad ethics based on our age (17/18 y.o.)?

I say we don't allow anyone to post till the age of 40.

Thats an immature statement and goes to show that age is not the most important factor when it comes to posting legidimate statements on here. Do you honestly think the majority of the people on here building flatwater freestyle skis or going big in surf are over 40 years old? Im not trying to talk down to you, I just want you to rethink that statement and not be so narrow minded...

P.S. Im not the buyer from NH

Anytime I am going to sell something, I ask for an e-mail, then tell the buyer to only communicate about the item through that e-mail. If they ask questions via PM, I tell them to reply to the e-mail. I also resend all related pictures even if posted in the origional thread. I state all items and the condtion of the items. I don't simply say carb for sale and a generic picture. I retake pictures to include the specifics of the deal, list each loose nut and bolt. If I am selling a carb, I take a picture of the carb with a ruler to the throat. Don't complain I said it's a 44mm and it's a 42. The picture would show if I miss measured, it's the buyers fault for not taking a moment to check my work. I make it clear that all purchases are final and that it's the buyers responsibility to make sure they know the details of the deal. I'll take 20 pictures of the item if the buyer asks. I'm not trying to make a living. I just don't like throwing good parts in the trash.

My point is... Sending a picture of the carbs attached to the manifold is lazy. Take a moment and reshoot the picture before you agree to a sale. It's not a very big deal. Also, list the final details of the deal in an e-mail (PMs have a max limit, e-mails can be saved) and tell them not to send payment until after they agree. I don't even let buyers have payment info until I know they have enough info on the item and understand what they are buying. It's costs a few sales, but saves a lot in buyers remorse.

Classic speed was trying to scam my cousin Jake. Heres exactly what happened. I found the ad on here that Matt pulled the post out of. I told Jake about it because he was specifically looking for a dual carb setup that would fit his 6m6 cases. I gave him the number, he called up classic speed and sent him the money right away...no dickering price sent him what he asked for. over a week went by and still no tracking number. When asked Classic Speed told him he misplaced the number. Jake ended up finally getting a pakage a little more than two week after he originally sent the money, with a postge mark days after he said he "misplaced" the tracking number. The box only ended up having the two carbs in them. Now Jak was obviously pissed and called classic speed up where he proceeded to try and tell him that Jake had told him he only wanted the carbs. Jake told him he was crazy and the intake was pretty much the key piece he needed and there was no way he would of ever led him to believe he didnt want it! Classic speed told him the only way he would send it to him was if Jake now paid him an aditional $15 for now shipping the manifold. I told him he was crazy to send it to a scammer like this as the original ad clearly stated carbs and manifold for $200 shipped. Now Jake has paid $215 in hopes of finally getting all the parts promissed to him....we'll see if he actually gets the manifold. Classic speed was lax shipping the stuff, lied about him only wanting the carbs, and over charged $15 for what he was originally asking. I would personally NEVER buy something from this guy. Beware guys. I love how he came on here first to try and play the rolee of victom. Thank you Matt for finding his original ad and calling him out.

I'm the one who suggested to Jake that he threaten Classic speed with a promiss to post a thread exposing his shaddy buisness unless he makes right on the deal. I'm sure thats why classic got on it first by starting a thread posing as the victom first. I cant believe my cousin actually sent him the additional $15! as I figured he probably would still never send the manifold. To bad guys like this make you think twice about trusting poeple on a site where everyone has a mutual ski interest.
