Oh, There may be someone here who has been on the property, but they would not come here and comment especially after being told not do or has signed a NDA. Anytime something new is coming out, there is always some that have seen them but cannot comment. Just a thought. Never buy the first iteration of anything. Buy the last iteration of a long product line. Personally, if it were my choice, I would buy 2020. And also because it is 2-stroke. The Yamaha 4-stroke could very likely be a couch with a pole.

That might be a great idea for most. The TR1 is a tried and true powerplant, just like the STX15F Motor was one of the oldest running motor designs that is proven that was used for the SXR1500.

Thats exactly what my friend and I did. Drive from Cali to OK to pick up 2 brand new ones.
Found a 2020 in the crate only 120 miles from me. Put a down payment on it over the phone and picking it up friday! Couldn't take the risk of it going away or Yamaha releasing something I didn't like. Listing wasn't even up an hour before I scooped it, salesman said he had a ton of calls on it. Looks like everyone else is scared it's going away too!

Nice, sounds like a score. I bought a new 2017 for the same reason... wanted to get one before they are gone. Fortunately they have made them for a few more years since then.

Had a dream I went to my dealer. All white, tr1, 60mph out of the crate. Promised me first dibs and offered me a job. Crazy.
I'm guessing the new "SuperJet" will be around 375lbs and a little bigger than a SXR. My guess is a release date around World Finals. Pretty sure someone else mentioned similar thoughts. It would be cool if they called it something else and made both ski's, keep the SuperJet and make a 4 stroke version. If I could still ride standups I would buy it. I ride on a large lake with lots of boats and wind with crazy monsoons. There are many times my SuperJet was too small to ride.
If something like the 4 stroke I mention comes out, I hope someone makes a top deck with a seat on it and I'm in. A new sport boat under 400 lbs, sounds great to me. I know 99% of the people on here think that's horrible idea but if you can't ride stand ups anymore (lower back pain) what else is there? A Wave Blaster, HX or a newer +750lb land yacht?

You can take a tr1 or the seadoo 900 and put it in a blaster or mx1 hx etc now. No need to wait for the SJ 4stroke.

But can you sink a TR1 or any other 4-stroke in the surf and have it running again in 15-20 minutes?
That is the issue I see with a small standup and a 4-stroke.
