i bet stan was wishing he hadnt stiffed chad for 500$ so he actually got some paperwork with the ski...

Ok here's the dealeo. Jake just built his last night. He wanted to ride it bad. Can you blame him? I had my second day on my DASA. Wanted to ride. Stan rides pismo and the don't care out there.

End of the day, yes, we should have registration. it's not hard to get. We all have been gambling and today we lost.

The cops were just doing their jobs. I'm fine with the ticket but having them impounded because of that is a bit harsh. I know that's the law but their obviously our skis. If we did have registration on them the cops wouldn't have any thing to say if infact some one did steal my ski.

Our skis are not going to be auctioned off. It's not even at that point, nor will it be. We HAVE documents on the skis how do you think I got mine released. The other two are going thru the process at the polices own time. We will have all 3 tomm.

I think stating that it looks bad on us as riders and our sponsors is a bit harsh.

I gotta say the whole community has helped us out alot. Helps knowing people who know people.

You hoodlums riding the water without registration. You all should be ashamed of yourselves. You guys are just animals.

We ride lake Michigan and we have been told by the Coast Gaurd that if we don't have ID we are considered a vagrant's and can be arrested. In Illinois, a buddy was give reckless boating (same as wreckless driving) for wake jumping and need a lawyer for his court date, don't remember the exact total cost. Look before you leap I guess..

sorry to haer about your ski's

My 2 biggest fears about being in the sport is having my ski sink to the bottom to never be found, and being impounded. Seeing this whole thing develop with Zack, Jake and Stan has seriously reminded me to throw some Reg decals on mine and my pops new hulls, maybe even keep some photo copies of the paper work with the hull.

We haven't had to worry about it too much as one of the sheriffs in our area is a very good friend of ours, but we have occasionally gotten the po-po's that don't like skis.

Best of luck to Stanton and Jake on getting their skis back! I'd probably be crying if I saw my brand new ski sitting behind a locked gate, lol.
On that note we lost another RN over the weekend at Tierra, gone...

so basically we have ran into alot of problems. were not out of the rabbit hole yet. too much stress.

Zack whats the issues? Collectively, I'm sure that we've dealt with it before and could come up with a solution. You have paper work for Jakes Rickter, and didn't Stanton say he had a VIN for the donor square that he used to build Yellow? Thats all they want, or is it more?

VIN from a "donor" boat??? C'mon now, the impound lot isn't going to let you paste on random HIN's. In fact, I have a feeling that NOW its going to be a lot harder to establish an ownership papertrail.

The police don't care about your property ... all they want are revenues created by the fines and the property tax. Trust me I have had a ski stolen . I personally called to get it put on the "stolen list " it never happened. I found it on craigslist 3 months later and went to get it. I had all my paper work police report etc. The drop out with a gun nor his captain drop with a gun could decide what to do. They eventually concluded that impounding it for 200 bucks was the best option. They called me the next day and told me to pick it up the next day or I would incur additional storage charges. WAIT A MINUTE ! I'm the victim here and it's costing me more money and time . What did I need them for ? It's not the governments business if have a fire extinguisher ,lifejacket ,whissle ,flag etc ........ I have a note from my mother that says it's ok because I'm a big boy now.:soapbox:

Ok the saga is over. We got the skis back in our possession. If I really wanted to I could go into a full blown rant about how we were treated. How we were lied to. How we were harassed. How we had to do numerous extra steps to get the skis. But I really I'm so over talking about this and stressing over it for 4 days. It turns bad fast when the item you dedicate your life to is taken away.

Moral of the story. Pay 29 bucks and get a home built title.

All 3 skis are now registered, have CF numbers, and new vins going on it a few mins.

We win.
