Custom/Hybrid EME Q8/Aerial 8/Micro/Roid discussion thread

Im looking for some help getting a 701 mated to a yami 144 in a micro. My midshaft is definitely too long and I have not been able to get a hold of eric to see if he has a shorter midshaft. What are you guys doing to solve this?

Sooo, since I've been through this issue: EME sends a fx1 shaft, then requires you to have couplers machined down to fit, kinda crappy.

What I discovered...

To get yami stuff to work with the micro:

-gp760 midshaft (Shortest yami shaft. Get it from jetmaniac, he has the ones with the correct spline location.)
-ADA Kawasaki 1100 conversation coupler for the midshaft side, it fits the yami shaft. Same thread.
-ADA Yamaha crank side coupler
-Damper for couplers
-Several cases of beer and lots of cuss words
-In extreme cases the title for your ski, so once your really tired of screwing with the micro you can sell it and buy a superjet, see avatar pic ;)

This worked perfectly for me. With minor modifications to oem superjet mounts I was able to get the engine aligned.

Does anyone have a micro ride plate for sale? Mines getting pretty banged up and I've been unsuccessful getting at any response for eme for the last month or two

You can sand cast and aluminum one. Mock one up out of foam, then lay it in a wet sand box, gently cover it with wet sand, leave a few openings, to pour in molten aluminum. Works well, albeit a little time consuming. You use old beer cans for the aluminum. Several videos on YouTube to help you out.
