My 12v makes about 600hp and actually cleans up pretty well for a 12v, still have some more tuning to do.

The world just keeps getting worse. First everyone thought their mom's civic was a racecar. Now they thing it's their dad's truck. Keep the muscle to the muscle cars. And fancy rims to the Cadillacs. Even women have better uses than that.

there is nothing i love more than passing a mustang with 4 buddies in my truck and skis behind it

True that. I was just a little cranky because I've been looking for a 92 or 93 Cummins and all of a sudden they are a collector's item. I can't find any under $3000 that is not completely run into the ground. I just want a truck to use as a truck. Not one that I shed a tear about when it gets a scratch on it.

Put two skis in the truck bed, hook up a 24foot boat full of gas, load the wife and 2 dogs all in a 10 year old dodge truck with a Cummins, set the cruise to 80mph and drive to the lake never down shifting or loosing speed all while getting around 20mpg and ull be talking a different tune. I'll never drive a gas truck again.

No, I wouldn't change my tune. They still smell freakin awful. Like an old school bus. Instant headache. And they sound like crap as well. Everything you list has no correlation to how much I can't stand the smell or the sound. But nice try.

It'd be like me saying "I hate the taste of apple pie". And you saying "well, the apples are locally grown, and contain beneficial antioxidants". Doesn't make me like the taste any better now, does it?

You're not supposed to tow in O/D.
I like my Diesel for towing, but without O/D I'm pretty much redlining at 65mph. And I get chit mileage. Any way to fix that?

I was in a drive through lane the other day when a diesel pulled up behind me. He had to shut it off to give his order and to pay the cashier because it was so loud. It made me think of this thread.

The only way to get mileage out of a diesel is to drive a Cummins. As for O/D, use it. The only problem is if you are going up a hill with a big load then it will need to be turned off so that it doesn't keep shifting back and forth.
