Do you think there would be any need to add the side chains like on the super truss when towing a larger trailer with your hitch?

Yes, you definitely need to run chains & extensions.

Is that just some of the coating worn off from shipping? I could be wrong, but I think it's bedliner coating...you can get some at the autoparts store to touch it up...or I'm sure Chris will help ya out, he's a solid guy!! These are very well made hitch haulers...

Ya it was rubbed off during shipping. But when I pay 60 for shipping I expect it to arrive with no issues. Nothing against Chris at all.

So the deal with aluminum is its cost , its time to weld etc. I really try to focus on making a quality built (extremely strong) unit for as low of a cost as I can while still making it worthwhile to produce. I have made two of them for family members out of stainless steel ... the material is just too costly for its benefit. My basic carrier is under two hundred dollars... just really cant beat that for a super easy way to transport and launch a ski without having to worry about trailer registration, a place to park a trailer and if you are anything like me .. trusting someone to back a trailer in correctly. LOL those small trailers are 10x more difficult than a 40' enclosed race car trailer..on top of this for 55.00 more I build a carrier that has a hitch receiver built into the rear of it for towing a trailer behind the ski you already have on the carrier. Sorry to rant on and on ..

I completely understand, however, if they only real problem is cost (ie. you can and would make them out of alum or stainless) why not just share an optional price and let the consumer decide if it is worth it to them. A lot of people in our sport throw crazy money at parts we value.

If its not that simple, carry on! Just my 2 cents!

2) Are there any photos out there of the hauler without a ski on it? I want to see the design of the hauler itself. I want to see how this thing is put together compared to others on the market before I place an order.

2 inch... I think I've seen about 2 foot of angle iron with strap steel from center bar out to each end of angle iron as support and bunks bolted to the side of the angle iron. Post 105 abov has a few picks too

Justin Patterson: Ive been having it out with UPS lately and they offered what they feel is a fair amount to refund you. I do not agree with it and I have had the UPS supervisor out to the shop and he has come up with a way to help with this issue in the future. ( i understand this does not help your situation.. however if you ship your carrier back and I will replace it with a new unit completely ( i strive for 100% customer satisfaction.)

river_rat: the v2 carrier accepts a standard 2" in the rear of it and it slides into a standard 2" receiver as well. ( I also make 2.5" units for the new larger diesel hitches)

Rutland racing : super glad that you are happy with our unit... also love the 4runner and x2s have a special place in my heart lol

Quinc: I have quite a few hauling WB1s on m haulers .. really depends on where your receiver is located in comparison to your most outer edge of your bumper .. ( I do of course have a few different models now to accommodate just about anything.

2lick: making out of stainless would be an option however it would need to be during the off season as my gear is setup for specific units during this our crazy busy time.


As of now here is what i manufacture

V1 basic carrier that will haul a standup ski ($195) engineered and tested to carry up to 650lbs of tongue weight

V2 carrier that also has a built in receiver in the rear ( $250) engineered and tested to carry up to 650lbs off tongue weight and tow up to 6000 lbs

( both of the above mention units have the ability to be built longer for jeeps with spare tires etc ( v1XL and v2XL) ( add $20.00)

( both of the above units have the option of being height adjustable (much like an adjustable tow ball 10" of upward adjustment and 10" of downward from the center location) This is very usefull with largely lifted or lowered trucks. ( add $45.00)

(all carriers can have an adjustable bunk option where the front bunk is on a slide and can be locked in any position. helpfull for custom hulls , blaster1s, ect) (add $35.00)

Thank you Kaylee UPS is such a large company ... without going into too much detail they really do not care about individuals... just look up youtube stuff and there are tons of stuff showing their delivery guys literally throwing packages 15 ft out of the trucks and laughing about it !! it extremely frustrating

Yes I rec. chains absolutely and you will need an electrical extension ( 3.99 walmart) I already make 2.5" carriers for the new hitches

I worked for ups as a holiday helper years ago and we would lose packages out of the door of the truck all the time while driving and have to go back and pick them up off the road. Also no cares if you write fragile on the box.

yeah it's pretty sad man you guys as customers pay the shipping to me and I turn around and pay it to UPS and then UPS basically does whatever they want lose packages damaged packages and then when it comes to the insurance claim portion of it they make it so incredibly hard to get any money back that sometimes I just give up. I am looking into other companies like FedEx DHL Etc but I don't know if they will be any better or not I have come up with a shield that I am incorporating into my packaging for the bottom of the carriers in case they do slide them across the ground they will not get scratched any longer

Almost forgot I also manufacture a 2.5" carrier (for the new heavy duty truck hitches, can be used without the silly adapter sleeve piece. also has a receiver built in the rear (2") . 275.00.. these are rated at 850lbs of tongue weight and will pull 6500lbs+

refund issued for what UPS is willing to refund. I am in the wrong business who wants to open a shipping company with me that has almost zero liability to its customers who already pay exorbitant fees . our slogan will be something along the lines of " we ship it .. but we do not guarantee it will be the same when it gets there" .. anyhow I have a solution with the new packaging.
